Illegal cards in this week's Brawl?

This week’s Tavern Brawl is “pick two cards and fill your deck with 15 copies of each”.

After getting thoroughly trounced by a druid that used Embiggen and Patches the Pirate, I thought I would make the same deck.

But when I tried, Embiggen was not a legal card. It did not show up in the deckbuilding interface at all.

So … how did my opponent make that deck?

Not sure why it isn’t showing up for you. It’s the 2nd card in my Druid collection when I go to build a deck for this week’s brawl.

BTW there is actually an illegal Warlock card in this week’s brawl, at least according to people on Reddit. I haven’t run into the deck myself

Hmm. Maybe I made a mistake and didn’t select Druid as my hero. I’ll try again when I get home tonight.

Type “Embiggen” in the search box on the bottom and it’ll show it if you have it crafted, if not, open crafting and then search

You’re probably searching under Standard cards, but Embiggen is a Wild card

Btw there’s a much stronger Druid deck for brawl - Pounce + Spread the word

Turns out I didn’t own any copies, and I just needed to click on the Crafting button.

EDIT:

I was misled because I expected it to show the “You don’t have this card. Check it out in crafting?” prompt, therefore I assumed the card was banned.

Apparently it only shows that prompt when your search exactly matches one of the words in the card title – and I had searched for “biggen” instead of “embiggen”.

You can see some people abusing a decklist that plays 0 mana soulfires though. These are illegal.

Just go pogo hopper and scheme of toggwaggle that’s what I did

All you have to do is copy the deck code from a source and it will populate with the zero mana version.

Brawl is a joke, and you should not care after winning 1.

We should take it seriously if it needed more wins.

bizarre logic.

Which… is still an abuse that allows to play an illegal card

At best you’ll have 4/4 of stats when druid already has 31/31

I don’t disagree, I’m just explaining how people did it so people don’t think there was some sort of hacking involved.

It’s been used like that each time this brawl happens.

But the Devs themselves imply it. It only needs 1 win and then any reward is almost gone or at least it’s poor investment of time for rewards (achievements and some XP).

If they considered it something aimed to be balanced they’d at least need 3 kills.
