On his twitter, Iksar asked what were player’s favorite and least favorite parts of the early meta. The pros almost uniformly complained about Pocket Galaxy, Conjurer’s Calling, and Dr. Boom.
I myself think the worst card to play against is Pocket Galaxy, but really all three of those three cards are likely going to see a change at some point.
I should add that I’m having a ton of fun. I really like the expansion. It’s probably going to get worse as the meta settles, but right now with all the experimentation, I’m having a blast.
Apprentice needs to be smacked by the Nerf-Hammer a little, and the most obnoxious Mage decks in Standard and Wild would be taken down a notch, without becoming unplayable.
But if they do become unplayable, it would just prove how hard certain decks are carried by cards which reduce the cost of other cards in your hand to 0.
Hero cards should be probably HoF. That is more about general community feeling than their impact or power.
Not have hero cards for every class just not feels right.
Pocket galaxy should be nerf too but I not think it should be a cost nerf. At 5 Mana it fits really well and still risky to play.
Maybe minions cost should turn into 2 or 3 instead of 1.
And conjurer’s calling I feel like should be left alone and designed around. It’s one of those cards that are hate not only because they are good but because they let people “escape the matrix” on the big number of uses.
CC on giants is powerfull but CC in the correct enemy minion is brilliant.
Just not let the hate for past metagame be bad for our future and we gonna be right.
Obs: I not like prismatic lens decks in general. They feel like Barnes was for big priest in the past except by the fact it has even more RNG.
The pet class that spent half of last year with two tier-2 decks, only to see one of them hit with the nerfbat so hard (RIP Mana Wyrm) it pretty much vanished. That pet class, you mean?
Well, I guess you’d better get accustomed to Mage having something decent to play most of the time. If it isn’t this, you’ll complain about whatever else works when CC rotates out.
Other than that making Dr. Boom even better than it already was, the pocket galaxy + conjurers decks are also beginning to wear on me, Ive been enjoying things.
Quest hunter is quite fun, and has interesting mirror matches.
Mage will still be good without Pocket Galaxy at 5 mana (baffling decision to buff it), and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to either change the cost of Grave Horror or increase CC to 4 mana.
