I think you looped yourself because you already said that before he replied to you. Second of all, he never said that “it’s a fact”, he just thinks your opinion is wrong. And yet you try to catch him on being “factually wrong” like a 3rd grade Twitch debater.
This is an opinion passed off as a statement of fact.
He does it in every thread he posts in - his opinions/preferences are factual, while other peoples are wrong.
By all means, show me the design regulations that dictate what constitutes good and bad card design, and I am all ears.
Selwynn doesnt do that. He argues his opinion as fact, and anyone with a differing opinion is wrong by default.
Can you show he is wrong? You guys are just arguing opinions and you are trying to score a gotcha on him by saying “you just made a logical fallacy”. I think you guys both should just go touch grass because you get silly exasperated about a children’s card game™.
Some of those aren’t loops (like Gang Up is only usable once). Deathrattles can be avoided in certain circumstances.
I agree with you on Dead Man’s Hand though. That is a loop. Though*2 in order to keep playing if you use two Dead Man’s Hand you still need to play some cards, so slowly you deplete, until the only cards you have are two Dead Man’s Hand - You’re a fish on land that just learnt how to breath air, a Magikarp without tackle, unlimited in its Splash pp. You’re done for if your opponent has any kind of way to deal damage to you.
Ignite can off attackers as well as deal face damage.
The classes that can counter it are few. The other classes’ alternative is to always have Steamcleaner in their decks. I don’t know of any other counter to Ignite.
Some gameplays are oriented by fatigue, which I myself think is boring (but players gotta play yknow). Some plays are so even it comes down to fatigue, and those gameplays I actually have been among the most exciting I’ve played.
If every class had a growing one-card-loop, Ignite would be balanced to those similar cards.
And every class kinda does - It’s called fatigue, and it punishes you for having played all of your cards X D
Mass Production is great design. It’s good to you if you use it 2 to 4 times. If you start pulling only that from your deck it’s a handicap.
Yes, every card has its admirers and ilmirers. A 10-cost card that simply wins the game would indeed be enjoyed by some, and disliked by some.
I think the card is too much, and that view is indeed just one aspect, I agree. I don’t think the card is wrong, though my two cents is that Ignite would be better balanced if it only could target minions.
