If I don't play Wild this season, do I lose stars?

Just wondering if I take a break from Wild if I lose my star bonus next season? What if I just played a few Wild games?

I’m pretty sure you won’t lose any bonus stars.

I’m not sure, but probably you will lose one star.
When I stopped playing standard to start playing wild, after one month of “standard inactivity”, I got 5x star bonus instead of the previous x6 star bonus.
I’m not sure what is my star bonus now in standard (4 months after the x5 downgrade), but I think it’s still x5, even if I didn’t ranked since then

edit: I checked right now: it is still x5. I don’t think it is the minimum, but maybe it is :joy:

Maybe if you don’t play you lose 1 star and then it stays there. Still unsure what happens if I played a few games in Wild, but didn’t really rank up. Funny that this isn’t knowledge easily attainable.

You supposedly only lose star bonus levels if you either leave for several seasons or if the system was not entirely sure you belonged at your previous star bonus level and you leave for a single season.

It may also take your seasonal rank in the other format into account if you have played it during your absence.

“You supposedly”, “It may”

Anyone find it strange that a straight answer is simply not available?

There is a minimum star multiplier bonus based on the highest rank floor you achieve in a season. Your MMR can award additional star multiplier. As MMR decay is slow, you might lose 1 star for low/inactive seasons, depending on how close t a break point you are, but it will take several months of inactivity to lose more than that.

Had 6 star bonus on June 1st, didn’t play till last month (Sep) and had 3x. So I think you lose one star bonus.
