And surprise surprise:
- there are not enough demons to make a demon deck with the 3 mana spell (to discount them) and willow.
- there are not enough high-cost + low attack minion to make deck of chaos a good “turn 5 do nothing”
The corrupt package or the soul package is still more consistent than willow + deck of chaos.
I hope the miniset introduces something to make at least one between willow and deck of chaos interesting.
Does anyone of you have a great “deck of chaos” use?
In my mind, it seems more succesful with a “clown + nzoth” type of deck, but I don’t have the card to test it and it may be just a worse Nzoth priest

I mean, I’m sorry your deck idea didn’t pan out but it’s generally the case when trying to cram two card with completely different and non synergistic deck building restrictions together.

Here’s what I’ve been rocking so far.

I don’t see what’s non-synergistic about 5 mana willows and dreadlords.

if you’re discounting them one way isn’t it redundant to play them for free with willow? is it worth a 5 mana tempo lost earlier?
even if that perticular play is worth it, OP kind of already explained the problem: the best willow target only get marginal benefit from deck of chaos and the best deck of chaos target aren’t demons.

Building the entire deck around just a turn 8 willow is bad lol.
Not to mention at worse it turns your dreadlords into 8/8’s and your willow into a 5 mana 8/5 that can be played earlier and easier.
I forgot to mention that I was messing around in standard.
In wild there are better demons and enough tools to survive; in standard, even if you get to the late game, it seems that there isn’t a real pay off in playing demons instead of the usual corrupt package, sadly.
Thank you for your insight
They synergize actually: willow is one of the few cards that is good with deck of chaos.
The post I made wasn’t about “my deck doesn’t work”, but a “they buffed these 2 cards (one now, one earlier), but what is their purpose?”
willow does synergize with deck of chaos
but not with free admission
I’ve seen a couple locks try it. They went for big taunt demons, which happens to be pain for my not-spell nuke shaman…
Actually meta decks would likely have no problems though. On that note, I do think one reason meta decks are meta isn’t simply because they’re way stronger than other decks, but because they can counter/deal with the silly late game stuff people can pull off, including late game locks.

There are lot of options for deck of chaos. Best one is nzoth and related demons and minions. Deck will remain viable even if you dont draw chaos. But it is really fun to play it asap

Yep, N’zoth clowns is the deck I use for deck of chaos and it seems to work best. I still don’t win all that much with it, but it does better than the other ones I tried. Getting a turn 6 board of 9/4s is pretty devastating.

The day the buff came out I faced a few Chaos warlocks. I enjoyed the fight and it was refreshing to have a fight on board, but it kinda was just a less-powerful clown priest. Deck of Chaos as a priest/lock dual spell would be heaven

Recently i added rusteed raider, 1 mana 9/8 rush taunt is just too good.

Yes, I can really see the appeal of that one. Even without playing Chaos it makes a great stalling tool by putting out lots of hp, taunt, and potentially removing a medium sized threat.
