I think there needs to be better combined counters

Silences work against pretty much every deck there will be said Deathrattle minion or some creature with an annoying effect or stats boost.

Where as Battlecry cards are immune their effect already happened.

Weapon counters chances are opponent already swung with the weapon once and only has an attack or two left and useless against everything but Pali’s and warriors… the occasional weapon pump rogue.

Same with locations… Mage , Druid and priest are the only runners of it.

Wish there was a better side board option like ETC tried to give hes so unreliable though

i always put zola in my etc choices so i can instantly duplicate another etc. its just tough to wait it out til i have 7 mana lol.

Cramer, you have no idea how to use ETC if you do it this way. Oh my god…

1: You’re reducing your ETC band size to 2 tech cards because one is used by Zola.
2: You’re sacrificing tempo by playing 6/6 stats on turn 7.
3: You have to spend 4 mana on turn 8 to get access to your first tech card.
4: You still only get 1 tech card by using Zola on your ETC. 1 =/= 2

So bad.

no idea what any of that meant. but sure bud. having the option to make a 2nd stab at pulling out etc for what else i put in there is a terrible idea… right. or i could use the zola for something more integral in the moment, or some other combination that results in using etc more than once per match. which is amazingly useful.

Or i can use it for a single stab at 3 cards and hope it pays off to have only 1 stab it at all all game. gamble either way, but at least with my gamble i get a free play that results in having minions on the board. decent one too at a 4/4

You only get one chance to pull something out of it whether you put zola in the etc or not. In order to get 2 uses of etc and have meaningful results, you would main deck Zola instead of putting her in the ETC band.

Or you could play priest and power word synchronize it.
Or rogue and shadowstep it.

Anything but sideboard zola. Its the worst possible use of ETC.

but that means ive got to hold onto etc until i draw zola, or the other way around, or once i have etc in hand and reach 7 mana i can do it using itself. and yeah there;s spells that let me clone or return etc or zola back to hand for later repeats. But RNGeesus would put Zola as top of deck and ETC as bottom of deck because of the amount of bad luck I have is like the amount of salt water the earth has. Along with no dredge in the deck lol. Because same reason. i get what you saying but this is just a built in guarantee I can pop off the combo and might be lucky enough to have another spell that lets me repeat etc some more. you might not have chosen to do such but i think its far from the worst way to play etc out there. I know for a fact Ive run into people (myself included) that forgot to load ETC before beginning their run. so a totally empty etc the entire run until you get your 3 losses. lol. THAT is the worst way to play etc.

Are you really okay playing a 4 mana 4/4: “Do nothing”?
Followed by a 3 mana 2/2: “Do nothing”?
Followed by a 4 mana 4/4: “Do nothing”?
Followed by the one actual card you wanted to play?

Why not just main deck the one tech card you were looking for?

Cramer: This amp goes to eleven.
Chia: Why don’t you just make all the numbers louder and go to ten?
Cramer: You don’t understand - this amp goes to eleven.

I dont get the issue with the do nothing, it very much does something, it gives me access to my sideboard cards, that isnt do nothing. and the next card clones the access to the sideboard so that isnt a do nothing. Im really confused as to how you can think they dont do anything? They have text on their cards that clearly state what they do.

… but this amp goes to 11!

Seriously, there is no logic in what you are saying. If you choose any of the two other options you get one stab at your sideboard. If you choose Zola you pay 3 extra mana to have one stab. So if you want to have multiple cards from ETC running Zola in ETC is very silly.

It reminds me of a person I once knew who would send her subordinate an email with instructions to send an email to a third person, and then would proceed to type up what she wanted the other person to send in the email to the third person.

The subordinate literally just forwarded the emails with “see below” and never mentioned it to my colleague.

Im not following what the issue is. so instead of saying im wrong and claiming im not getting 2 etcs with 2 of my 3 sideboards out of it, kindly explain what im supposed to be doing? and if possible describe or link the cards if you are gonna shorthand them and just list things by name? it helps. cuz as far as i can tell im getting way more out of my etc than just 1 stab at 1 out of 3 cards and only having the big guy on the board once. but maybe you can give me an example of what should be done?

Okay let me try this.

A sideboard is where you use tech cards.

If the first card you pull only makes you able to use the sideboard again…

Then why don’t you pick what you need the first time?

well, i could have the 4/4, and say 6/6 dr 4 horsemen.

or i could have 4/4, 2/2, 4/4, and 6/6 dr 4 horsemen. and if I happen to have the return to hand pandaren 2 cost in my hand, i can drop the 2nd 4/4 again for the 3rd card, usually the 9 cost spell from neutral (fills hand with spells).

thats a lot more board presence, things they gotta trade minions away or a lot of spells to do so. Or I can get 1 stab at one of my 3 cards or get a stab at all 3.

Okay.

This Guy is just a value freak.
Just let him have his Fun.

Bruh, by taking Zola out of ETC you basically played a useless ETC, since the tech card you want will be gated behind the second ETC.

Situation 1: You need a tech card that’s on your ETC → You play ETC.
Situation 2: You don’t need a tech card: you play ETC and take and play Zola, getting a second ETC. You need a tech card that’s on your ETC → You play ETC

You just remade the first situation with extra steps and useless spenditure of mana. You could just not have played the first ETC and get your tech card later. You could have more ETC techs if your Zola wasn’t taking space in your ETC.

ALSO IT’S A BAD PLAY STATWISE! IT’S TURN 7 FOR CHRIST SAKE

4/4 is a beefy minion. multiple 4/4s moreso. whats your obsession with this? Ive yet to see an example of a better etc plan… just you having an issue with me having 2 4/4s a 2/2 and a 6/6 dr 4 horsemen on the board.

Cramer, god in heaven: 4/4+2/2 is 6/6 in stats at turn 7. Imagine a card that reads: 7 mana, summon two 3/3.

It’s essentially what you’re playing, which would be a unplayable card by any measure. It’s a TERRIBLE play statwise

Playing a single ETC is better than what you’re doing with Zola. We aren’t playing in a game where a 4 mana 4/4 is a good card in the last 7 or so years.

Everything has already been said, but I´ll try one more time even though I don´t have high expectations…
First of all - why it is bad play? To pull your little “combo” you have to play it on turn 7 or later to make sure your ETC don´t die before you copy them. You put 4 mana 4/4 together with 3 mana 2/2 only to copy another 4 mana 4/4 into your hand. That is what others refer to as “do nothing”. You literally did nothing to your opponent. Two average (at best) bodies on turn 7 is bad play. You basicaly skiped whole turn and thats HUGE advantage for your opponent - they will laugh at your 4/4 and 2/2 on board.
No offence, but play like that is exactly the reason why you are unable to get out of Bronze.

Now, you asked about better ETC plan. I believe someone already metioned that. Much better plan is to have your Zola outside the ETC. Put ETC on board, pull out your tech/wincon → copy ETC with Zola → next turn play ETC, pull another tech/wincon.

Now I´m not saying it is best play, but it is definitely better than yours “plan”.
