I reached 2,147,483,647 Health on a minion in bg

I reached 2,147,483,647 Health on a single minion in Battlegrounds – and as far as I know, that’s the absolute maximum value a minion can have (32-bit signed int max).

This wasn’t a bug or cheat – it took a long strategy
Have any of you ever seen this before? Is this really the cap?

:jigsaw: Key Cards:

  • Golden Upbeat Upstart
    :point_right: Every 2 turns, sets its Health to double the highest Health minion on board.
  • Golden Drakkari Enchanter
    :point_right: Your end-of-turn effects trigger 3 times instead of once.
  • Upbeat Duo
    :point_right: Gave me copies of friendly Upbeat minions — which let me discover more Upstarts and make them Golden easily.

:hammer_and_wrench: How the combo works:

  1. I started with 1 Upbeat Upstart and used Upbeat Duo multiple times to get copies.
  2. I managed to create 2 or 3 Golden Upbeat Upstarts thanks to the Duos.
  3. I played a Golden Drakkari Enchanter, so end-of-turn effects triggered .
  4. Every 2 turns:
  • One Golden Upstart checks the highest HP on the board and sets its Health to double that.
  • Drakkari triples this → so it becomes 8× the current max Health.
  • The other Upstarts do the same, copying and amplifying the Health even more.
  1. This exponential scaling made one of the Upstarts explode in Health, eventually hitting the hard cap:
  • 2,147,483,647 HP

That’s nothing new
There were designs that allowed that to happen very frequently

Originaly, a minion exceeding that amount would reset to 0 and instantly die, in both HS and BG
Now in BG it simply stops growing
In HS though it now displays the infinity symbol instead of the actual stats

Has happened many many times… nothing new BG has been out a long time.

Bah, humbug. You can get infinite attack or armor in wild.

Seriously, though… Nice job! I’ve never gotten anywhere near that high but I’m not a big BGs player.

Can’t. No such thing as poisonous in battlegrounds. A 1/1 venomous on the other hand? That’ll do it! :wink:

There are poisonous minions on top of the venomous ones, even in battlegrounds :eyes:

Oops. I thought they’d completely replaced poisonous.

Yes, because they didn’t set a limit for gameplay reasons. It’s to save memory on their servers.

I doubt it’s necessary to save that memory nowadays, but those Devs aren’t the brightest.

They removed it from the tier 1-6 minions but it can still be found on some tier 7 and hero-specific minions

That’s pretty high but you can actually hit the integer cap on many builds last season and previous seasons.

It seems that BG is more and more randomness. You either get crazy synergistic stuff, or you get crap.

I had a quest to play Elementals or Quillboars and the reward was… A dragon that boosts other dragons. I had zero dragons in play at that point.

That’s actually one of the MANY bugs that they need to address in the patch for BG’s. It shouldn’t be offering you a pivot at all if you are clearly building one tribe.
