I am 13-5 right now after the ladder reset. Using my rogue Protoss home brew. I’m sitting on diamond 3 and will be legend shortly. Maybe tonight if I play a long session.

My account is 10 years old.

Btw the “nerfs” shouldn’t be a big deal, but will make a significant impact in play order. You might not keep Chrono Boost in a mulligan. I’m uncertain. You will always keep Artanis. Playing that card on curve doesn’t matter for rogue. You just want it and to be able to play it in the most reasonable window you can.

Chrono Boost was powerful since you could play it on turn one if you start with coin and often on turn two with Preparation. While you still can advance the turns you play Chrono Boost on, turn three and five are often contested for other cards. This may be a reason you do not keep the card in your mulligan.

The five cost also prevents you from naturally playing it with Sandbox Scoundrel on turn six. I have used Preparation before in order to play Chrono Boost or Dubious Purchase with Sandbox Scoundrel. However, it is far more frequent to play that on turn six with that combo. I am not sure if a seven mana play will have enough impact.

Previously, you might have played Sandbox Scoundrel and combo it with a three mana card and used Preparation on a four cost card on turn seven.

In general playing Sandbox Scoundrel is one of the lower win rate options you can take. So it will be interesting to see how these cards interact with rogue’s game plan. This is my favorite duck, and I won’t stop playing it. I have had other variations that have only have a 17% win rate. I hit legend last month with a variation having around a 70% win rate. I have previously hit legend with other decks like gallery priest.

Right now this variation is about 60% win rate over 100 games.

Wtf. I love u? Will try this

I lost the last 12 games in a row. I feel your pain. I have not lost this much in a long time. These decks are so toxic. I am still stuck in bronze. I don’t even know anymore.

I can still hear the sound of Patches… in fact, that card was so notorious there have been multiple portraits of it.

How can it truly compare to turn one?

Lots of Rogues being played right now at the top of the ladder. One of the big winners of the nerfs.

Theres not one comfy deck for rogue even the one my friend so heplfully posted above

I’ve gone to the depths of experimenting with all classes except shaman

This is my cue!

I’m currently 7-1 on a Menagerie Shaman that JackTR posted and I edited according to my tastes and turned it into a hybrid Rainbow Elemental Menagerie

It’s aggro, it’s snowbally, and it’s fun to see how the meta lacks answers to it

I’m pretty sure Chrono Boost is cooked for rogue. You can’t have it in your Mulligan anymore. And it has similar statistics of Dubious Purchase, which was already one of the lowest performing cards in the deck.

You just can’t have that many five cost cards in your hand. Not to mention, holding your preparation only for that card. Protoss rogue always struggled against aggro and had to perfectly deal damage against controls. Did something have to change to Chrono Boost and Artanis? Sure, why not…

But the changes they chose might have destroyed rogues archetype. They could’ve just made zealots 3/2 … An issue was they were sticky and efficient at trading and maintaining a board. You could change the charge to rush as another option. In classes like druid and mage Chrono Boost either gave them more safety (mage) or ridiculous access to Artanis combo’d with ramping (druid).

Rogue is able to abuse coins, spell cost through Preparation, and selective combos with Sandbox Scoundrel. However, there is essentially no armor or life gain in rogue. Additionally, the other class minions do not have very strong stats. Those previous combos also typically take more time (than other Protoss archetypes) or less are consistent. Additionally, using your Sandbox Scoundrel or Preparation are key decision points. Using them in suboptimal ways will likely lead to a loss. You can’t just play cards.

It is not an easy deck and there are many technical plays. Additionally, you must think about the cards your opponent has and will play. You don’t care about your life points really so you trade those often and will get close to situations where they either have lethal or you do.

Hmm, Maybe I was just lucky  I’ll know more when I finish the grind, so I can test it against better opponents
