Hunters quest needs to be nerfed

Its just absolutely stupid they get like 4-5 steady shots per round towards end game because they can refresh their steady shot with spells. Like seriously.

Looks like this movement is gaining traction…

It’s probably only like the 8th best deck right now but sure I could see them doing this based on historical nerfs. For me it would be 1600 dust for a card I don’t like to use anymore, they absolutely cannot justify this without changing the questline quest which is my biggest grievance with this kind of thinking.

Or they make quest that win 2 turns after they complete, like hunter and DH. Just as hard to complete, and not possible to complete before turn 8, like priest. And only with perfect draw.

Buffing other classes would go a long way to shaking up the meta overall. Bring more minions heavy decks back and hunter folds.

Hunter could really need another archetype. 100% of hunters have been the exact same quest deck.

And it’s made worse when you have no way to interact with their plans even if you know every card.

This will totally kill the quest and considering the quest will stay till next rotation, it probably be nerfed on spell requirement if touched directly. I drop all quests already, except priest which is still fun to meme around in wild. I recently drop the dh quest which was really fun but with kaz nerf it was no longer a thing. So the dust would be welcome(already dusted 2 quests warrior and warlock 4 dust and hold back on mage(a big mistake)). I’ve played all quests they were fun but after a while they just got really boring.

playing more spells to advance the quest would probably go a long way towards making Quest Hunter less powerful. I mean, they have a lot of direct damage and a couple draw cards with or without the quest, that won’t really change unless they start banning a lot of cards.

I agree. I think that’s what the people supporting this Reddit post want. I can’t say that I think the questline should be killed. I don’t know that I’d mind if it were, though.

I think it is horrible to play against. I would love to see it changed to a control thing (which would make sense as you are DEFENDING the dwarven district).

Make it so that the hero power can be refreshed but can only target minions. I think that would create an interesting control hunter.

At the height of Quest Handlock I remember realizing that if Purified Shard was just a card you could include directly, they wouldn’t want it because they won for free anyway around turn 10, so why waste the card slot?

Only if DH loses all the swinging face damage it does from hand, which is right on par with quest hunter.

It’s like, top 5 at 1k legend, if memory serves; and that’s mostly because Ramp druid is a very played counter that is holding it back.

I think it should be nerfed as well mainly for the fact that it is the most boring and un-interactive deck in existence. All they do is click on your face repeatedly with the most boring type of spells over and over again, they play piss all minions and the game just becomes a stupid game of who can smork face the other faster, such a boring, bs and unfun deck.

Thanks for the reply guys. I’m glad I’m not the only person who thinks it needs a nerf. It’s similar to the pirate quest, all you have to do is play cards to finish the quest line where as Shaman quest you gotta play your cards but also have to manage overload and what your opponent has on the field.

The hunter quest’s final reward should still remain the same but have a mana cost to using it’s hero power. It’s just too powerful being at mana cost 0.

Oh, I somehow haven’t posted in this thread yet.

Quest Hunter is not ridiculously overpowered. It has a strong winrate in Diamond that drops off below 50% by top Legend. So as far as winrate balance is concerned, there’s little if any cause to nerf the deck.

Personally, I think Drek’thar needs to be nerfed, and this would hit Quest Hunter. That’s okay, Quest Hunter isn’t so weak that I’m bothered if it takes splash damage from a nerf. But Quest Hunter certainly doesn’t need to be nerfed past that.

This is what I consider to be the typical invalid hate response. If Quest Hunter is focusing so much on your face, that means you aren’t playing threats. That means you’re just sitting back and trying to have nothing happen. That means you’re playing the deck that boring and non-interactive. But “control players” are masters of projection. A game that goes on forever until fatigue kills someone, that’s excitement, according to “control player” doublethink.

At least DH runs out of steam. Just count their cards and you know when you won.
Though I agree if they are smart about it the damage they can do from hand for so cheap is ridiculous, I think they gave them way too many 1 mana wonders.

Against hunter… they just never run out. If they are close they pop tavish and smother you with huffers.

One of possible nerfs would be changing dragonbane shot and their draws, they are some of the reasons it is so hard for them to run out of steam.

Honestly, if you hate this deck so much, just play a deck that runs fewer minions and more heal. Pretty sure Control Warrior eats the lunch of this deck. Also, I have had pretty good success playing Control Paladin vs Hunter. I’m also pretty sure ramp Druid smokes hero power Hunter as well.

Thats easy to say to try an solve this issue, but the issue is that you’re not always gonna vs huntard thats using this quest deck. you don’t know who you are gonna vs. The problem is that his quest is too strong atm.

I really doubt the decks I play mean I’m not playing threats - beast hunter, mech mage and paladin, burn shaman. Any early game minions you can play just fuel the hunter quest which is a stupid play and after you give that to them they just click on your face. Also, it is unbelievably hypocritical to say it’s bad that someone just isn’t playing threats when quest hunter often plays LITERALLY ZERO minions the entire game and any minion they do play such as that new 2/3 hunter minion is just there to fuel face damage and not actually encourage any board interaction. It’s a mindless one sided solitaire, boring deck.
