Hunter quest and abyssal curse

Defend the dwarven district seems to trigger off abyssal curse even though they are not doing the damage. Makes playing them against hunter help them resolve quest rather than be a hinderance. This needs fixed as they get free quest completion. For some reason they get credit for my card.

Definitely seems like something is off with this particular interaction. I get that spell damage progresses the hunter’s quest, but definitely seems off if it’s not a spell they’re actively playing.

Secrets generated from effects such as the Tavish hero card also proc it, despite not being a spell cast from hand. So most likely not a bug, but since they changed bombs to no longer proc the questline, it’s a bit inconsistent logically.

Well, secrets kind of make sense since the hunter is playing them - even with something like Tavish, the hunter’s still playing the secret (quest just doesn’t progress until the secret gets activated and deals damage). Was unaware bombs caused the quest to progress previously, and got changed - seems like this should also be included in that list of exceptions. Speaking of, I wonder how that fatigue one interacts with hunter’s quest - that should probably also be included in the list of exceptions if it isn’t already.

It’s technically a spell that deals damage…but I doubt this is intentional.

id kill if curse and abysll gets patched out of this hell.

i just encountered this interaction and i believe that it cost me the game considering it triggered there quest twice. This interaction needs to get some serious attention.

This is so broken and I get matched up against Quest Hunter with my Abyssal Curse deck every other game. Nothing I can do unless I’m extremely lucky. I’ve won maybe 1 in 10 games. Why does it proc their quest when THEY are not casting the spell?

Probably because they are dealing damage with their spells, even if you put the spell there and they aren’t “casting” it. Exactly as the text reads.
