NA mini-arena is free packs for all, EU mini-arena is a bloodbath
Do not recommend anyone to play mini-arena on EU until proven otherwise
It IS possible to prove me wrong: EU is my main, and arena matchmaking is through MMR, so it’s possible I just get a lot more difficult matches on EU due to high MMR
We’ll see when I move on to Underground on NA, which is gonna take some time because I can’t stop winning in mini-arena there and I do need the free packs
I thought MMR is seperate for constructed and arena. We all just started with the same MMR when the update launched. Is there any official info on that? Afaik you should’ve started with the same MMR in EU and NA.
Otherwise I can’t say anything about the matter, I only play EU. My winrate there is high enough to consistently get more than 150gold worth of rewards. I consider myself a slightly better than average player, so I wouldn’t call it a bloodbath.
It is separate, but my arena MMR was pretty high on EU all the time because I used to be a semi-permanent player back in the days
It certainly doesn’t seem like they reset the MMR-s, I’ve played enough games on both servers and the difference is just overwhelming
Considering there’s no gold rewards, just decks, it’s probably smarter investment to go Underground, as playing mini-arena without permanent free tickets is a guaranteed way to go broke (as visible from Schematik’s reply to me in the other thread about a guy who’s currently ranked 11 on mini-arena but lost all gold)
I can’t vouch for anything except for my transparency and experience and my experience tells me that either they didn’t reset arena MMR-s OR NA just have a free meal game mode, and EU does not.
Burned 600g on EU on both arenas, but I got a few free tickets back out of that, so I played more than 150 arena games total in the last 3-4 days and that’s just on EU
On NA, I haven’t yet managed to spend any gold, I’m just permanently playing for free
As far as I know there are no leaderboards for mini Arena, so he was top-11 in the Undegraund Arena (I saw a screenshot of the leaderboard and sometimes as far as I can remember he posted in the chat screenshots of 12 wins).
I don’t see anything unrealistic: if you play, for ex, like 12-0, 12-2, 4-3, 12-1, 12-2, 12-1, 4-3, your winrate will be high, but you will lose gold bc of those unlucky 4-3 runs.
Can’t say I understand how that is possible right now, but I’ll try
I went 7 wins max (it doesn’t help that it’s not possible to start 1-0, for example, because the 1st game in arena is always a crash and you start 0-1 by default) and you just don’t lose money that way, but you also don’t gain any
Is it possible you can go 8-12 wins without gaining extra gold? I’m finding it hard to believe
Because if that’s the case, the system is definitely not worth playing
Going over 6 wins simply adds a few % chance for getting the “Crowd’s Favor”, aka 2 000 gold, but the odds are laughable, even at 12 wins they’re just 12%
Yeah, nah, I’m not playing that crap, I’ll take as many free packs in the mini I can get and then I’m out
Under new system its possible. You get no gold unless you hit the jackpot and at best the jackpot is 13% to hit which is around 1 in 8 and hitting the jackpot is only way to be gold positive and under the current system its possible to never hit the jackpot if you are super unlucky as it currently has no pity timer or anything like that to guarantee a hit after failing to hit numerous times in a row. You can have a crazy run of like 100 12-0s in a row with a single run that’s under 7 wins so you don’t get the rebuy back and be gold negative if you happen to never hit a jackpot.
The card and pack rewards are much better though but Arena people don’t really care about that they want gold so they can play more Arena. Maybe let us sell back packs we don’t want for like 1/2 the gold. That way the people that want the packs and keep them and the people that just want more Arena can get their gold to jump back into Arena.
It’s probably because the BC decks are avoiding the regular arena because of how much they are getting for the underground decks they are selling. They are going for a whole lot more now. Probably because it’s like a casino slot if you get the high wins. you can get your money back with the possibility of all the gold you could win. That’s my best guess on their thought process.
That would make the regular arena harder, not easier, no?
Nah, there’s no logic behind this. Either there’s less good arena players on NA or they’re smarter than EU and simply refuse to play a mode meant to bankrupt players.
