How will HS end?

All games will end somehow.
What do you think how HS will end?

  • launch of HS2?
  • total end of HS IP?
  • gradual die off with announcement of end future content support?
  • change to subscription mode?

…?

The moment SuperCuddles doesn’t make a daily post is the moment it’s all over. Btw, where is she?

A gradual reduction in extra content (story/lore), reduced staff, reduction in quality. Oh wait…… :fearful:

We could get Hearthstone 2 but i think it is more likely we get something like Hearthstone 2.0 where we get a huge update to graphics and such. This way we keep our collection and continue with the sunk cost fallacy that keeps the game alive!

Sadly, with a whimper.

It already starting to end first grab as munch $ little player base have left , fill void with bots , and last don’t care about the IP.

Highly doubtful. Majority of “users” are bots. It’s the only thing propping up their numbers, hence why they’re not interested in stopping the bot issue.

this game prints money for them, it will end with WW3

Overwatch 2 dies before HS does (due to making less money for the cost of running and taking up more development resources), so I think we’re safe for now since that game isn’t in maintenance mode yet.

I don’t know, but if it doesn’t end with a Murloc saying mrglrhrlrgrlrhrlrhrl translated to “so long and thanks for all the fish” then I’ll be super sad.

I imagine it ends with eventual class bleed, unbalanced class sets alienating a lot of players who enjoy playing the classes that aren’t getting the good sets every year, and probably some ironic expansion title like Agony in Azeroth or Perils in something being a precursor to the beginning of the end.

That would be epic

But the most likely end will be Microsoft decides that there is no more money to be squeezed out from HS and soon HS will cease to be. However if Blizz manages to get a deal with Netease renewed that might be still years out.

WoW is still around. Somehow. I think as long as WoW is around, HS will be around.

The good thing is that card games, specifically CCGs, tend to have very long life spans because of their nature. They were designed to go on for awhile unlike regular games.

When HS does decide it’s time to wrap it up, it’s likely going to be replaced with HS 2.0 in the form of another theme.

CCGs are all destined to be digital in the future and HS is already there. I could see HS going on for another 10 years easily. Just look how long MTG has been around.

Different magic the gather has a better team than team 5 to keep the game going so long not blizzard. Team 5 is running this into the ground making this into a slot machine game paired magic nothing like HS when come to game play.

Yes, it is possible but unlikely. Unless something radical happens HS is clearly in a downward trend. Losing Chinese market, slashing Esports support, killing modes one by one.

But we will see. No skin off my back either way.

And might be in minority here but I don’t fancy a CCG Fortnite and that is what MtG has become: a greedy milking of out of coompany IPs. I do not care to play as Homelander in HS nor do I want to summon 6 Ultron Bots to destroy my enemy’s Akira. But again, probably in minority on that front.

Probably gradually overtime when apathy settles for majority.

Apathy is true death of any game.

im stll waiting on year of starcraft and year if diablo in HS
