Hello,
I’m very new to this game. I spent about $30 to get some cards, so I could disenchant them and use my dust to build my first character. After going on youtube, I decided to make a combo priest. I made an epic card called psychochomp or something because it was recommended in the video.
When I tried to use it, it said that it wasn’t allowed, and I don’t have any more dust to make more cards now. I know this is my fault, but how would I know in advance if I can play a card or not before I craft it? I guess there’s nothing I can do with this mistake this except DE it, and take the loss, right?

Can you give more details? Maybe a screenshot of the message?
That card you mention should be allowed in standard and wild, so it is not a matter of being able to use the card, as much as understanding what the problem actually is. Are not able to add it to your deck? are not able to select the deck in order to play? or is it not having the effect you were expecting in game?
I am sure we can help you, but we are going to need to know a little bit more of what you want to do, and how are you trying to do it. 
I’m able to add it to my deck. I just cannot enter a regular online 1v1 match with this one card. I get a message saying there’s a problem with one of my cards. When I remove it, I can play. I never played wild. I’m new and not interested in that. Thank you.
Can you clarify what is 1 vs 1 mode?
I don’t even see an option for wild mode. Is that even available to brand new players? Anyway, I only play standard 1v1 so far. It seems like this one card is just not allowed foir some reason.
It may be easier if you have someone spectate you while u play.
