Hi, I was having difficulty with the tavern brawl this week. Is there any easier way to take down the City of Dalaran? Is there a strategy I’m not thinking of?
Maybe a self-damaging Warlock deck. Foul Imps, Pit Lords, Neferset Thrashers. You should easily assemble enough to deal 30 damage, then keep using your hero power and keep playing self-damage cards,
Weapon Removal and Stat Flippers help you keep the city off your back for a long time. A tip for stat flipping though, you don’t use it on the 0/x taunts because it somehow turns them into complete monsters. You want to use that on the presents.
Stoneskin Basilisk can be pretty good for removing two of the x/x guys that they summon if it sticks for a second hit. It also helps to one shot the big 0/x taunts without having to deal a ton of damage.
A decent Galakrond build can give you a ton of value if you just invoke it over and over again. My Galakrond Rogue dealt something like 1400 damage with a 35/35 Windfury Poisonous Divine Shield Vicious Fledgling.
You just have to be able to hit City of Dalaran and you win when you “die”. Every time you hit, it GAINS health. I created a Rogue Deck that keeps shuffling cards into my deck and when it went over 5000, the game automatically gave me a loss so just make sure you get some hits and let the game kill you. It will be considered a win.
The win conditions aren’t explained very well imo. You have to do two things:
- Increase the “damage” (called decorations) to the city hero until it’s over 30.
- Once you’ve done #1, let your hero get killed.
The strategy that worked for me was to try and keep the board clear as well as periodically destroy the city’s weapon. I added a couple of Acidic Swamp Oozes to my beast Hunter deck toward that end, as well as making sure I had as many board clearing cards as possible. I got a little lucky to draw both ASO’s, and in combination with my hounds and hyena was able to keep the board under control and deal the 30 damage before I got killed.
Nuker Jaina, get the presents early then just dont let him recover, use polymorphs.
You can try inner fire priest if you don’t have wide collection, might take a few tries before winning.
