Hello all, just thought I’d ask just in case Shaman is a bad matchup against Mage. No matter how well I’ve played - eating both Reckless Apprentices I still get minced by the hero card.
Any decks you are finding succesful against it (not Warlock if possible)?
Can you tell us if it’s Big Spell Mage or Spooky Mage that’s giving you problems?
If you want to beat a mage you have to close Mac Donald’s. Then they have no food anymore…

Okie dokie. Below you will see Spooky Mage’s matchups, and what it does worst against. Looks like Celestial Druid and Quest Hunter perform best versus it.
If you’re playing shaman against them, Primordial wave works wonders against wide boards of skeletons, just make sure you can kill the resulting minions on the same turn so the mage can’t use Deathborne to create more of them. You’ll also want to try to use Theotar or Mutanus to pull out their win cons. Skel mage is just a slog and really not fun to play against for most classes, but shaman still has a favorable matchup and you can counter them if you build your deck right.
You can make a counter for it. But doesn’t matter. If you do you will not face them anymore. You know matchmaking exists.
One day you win many games. Next day with same deck you have a losing streak for a whole day.
The plan is go face before they summoned too many skeletons.
Instead of using mutanus and theotar, I would run more aggressive early game cards, or even some evolve cards to scam the game with a good roll
