How long are we going to suffer from pirate demon hunter

Just wondering when this deck is going to get nerfed, it kills you quicker than big spell mage with some utterly stupid pirate synergies, or are we going to have to sit through months of this brain-dead trash?

It doesn’t kill you if you make a board with a taunt and some life steal.

It totally runs out of steam with decent board clears, too.

Until the devs that are playing the deck decide they want to go back to druid.

I still find it clunky to play. Half of the time you get the mulligan and the first 2 3 draws badly and just die.

Since it still has some winrate I guess WHEN it draws well the winrate is near 80% against almost all decks.

Painlock hard-counters that joke of a deck

I mean, don’t get me wrong, the deck’s very strong. However, it doesn’t belong to HS in 2024. It’s a very nice replica of how aggro decks used to look like in the first (best) few years of the game - a lot of tribal synergy, a few cards which everything depends on and praying for that turn X topdeck because you lack card draw and have more mana than cards.

It SHOULDN’T be this effective, but it somehow is.

It’s because it works EXTREMELY well, when the stars align for the draws it needs, and when the draw is only modestly worse the winrate just plummets.

That’s a property of any aggro deck, so that’s not why it works - I think.

I think the meta is just conducive to it, because a faster deck doesn’t exist and the meta has slowed down compared to how it was during the Reno warrior days (paradoxically, but yeah, you can clearly remember hyper-aggro decks dominating the ladder at that time - Zarimi priest, 2-3 warlock decks, Shopper DH, flood pally, turn 4-popping Giant Rogue…)

So yeah, I think it’s mostly the meta. And a little bit of it is a crazy synergy between DH and Priest cards, lol. Obviously that also plays a role since Shaman can’t possibly be as fast as DH can be, and they both utilize the same Pirate package.

Pain lock is the fastest deck. I don’t know locks but I know that flood paladin is way less clunky to play. I have options with most mulligans and early draws while DH can be locked on situations like 1 HP 1 DAMAGE minions for 4 rounds and that usually means its death.

pre nerf bsm was the only thing slowing it down

now yall must suffer

just look up how long they left naga dh untouched, was very fun and balanced as well.

enjoy the ladder.

Even arena is Fu**** , it might actually be in a worst state than standard. I guess the only mode left that might be enjoyable is BG.

if you think BGs are “fine”, you’re in for more than a rough awakening.

It’s a complete highroll clownfiesta, just like standard or other modes. People highroll the f* out of their comps and trinkets. If you get a head start, you’ll most likely steamroll, if you don’t, ggwp.

Also, the animations take forever. If you play or face someone with full beast, pirate or some other comps, you might find yourself with limited time (<20 sec.) or no time at all before you get into your next match. So much fun and variety, one can barely contain the excitement.

Pirate Dh is quite easy to beat with a defensive deck - some combination of taunts / aoes / heals. it’s just a very fast, very fragile deck. It can easily get under slower value decks but it gases out so fast if you actually respond early.

I think it’s actually one of the most fair decks in the game currently. Wins or loses by efficiently spending mana and tempo. There are no weird gimmicks, or mana cheats, or gigantic swings.

What are you talking about. It was the best counter to bsm, and BECAUSE of that pirates are overplayed.

you seem to be confused

the word slow is not the word stop

I don’t get what’s slowing you down, if you win. You have no reason to change the deck.

It kills YOU quick. Speak for yourself.
