How does Owlonius damage stack?

Man, I am so confused by this card. Can someone help.
The point I understand to is you play Owlonius and you get +2 Spell Damage, sure.

Then I play Cover Artist on Owlonius and a 2 damage card, does 10? Is it first Owlonius +1 Spell Damage (double) so 4 and then second Owlonius +1 Spell Damage and it doubles the 5, so 10? And then I activate the two locations and it’s 18 damage suddenly, why?

Someone please help. I can’t understand how to know how to count the damage that is to be expected.

First count all spell damage: +4
Then double it to +8.
Then double it to +16.

And if I have 3 copies of Owlonius can I just replace ‘double’ with ‘triple’ here?

No.

Well then that’s what I am asking. I want to know the intricacy of the card. How do I count the damage if I get 3 copies of it from Colifero for instance.

Never triple. You double, or double then double, or double then double then double.

Without any locations three Owloniuses is equivalent to Spell Damage +24.

I would assume in that scenario with 2 locations you would have 5 spell damage double to 10 then 20 then 40.

It’s

(Total spell damage) * 2^X

Where X is the number of Owlonius.

If you colifero to transform 6 tokens into Owls you’ll have

6 * 2^6 = 384 spell damage.

That’s perfect. I will use this from now on when playing the deck. ty
