How do you beat Priest with Highlander Mage?

I’m stuck every time going against Priest. No matter what I do with Mage, Priest will have a way to clear the board.

So what kind of tech card do I need to auto win this match up?

You don’t “auto win” that match up unless the priest sucks.

Be patient and consider how to maximize the value from your cards. This often goes to fatigue so do your best not to draw cards.

Galakrond priest or resurrect priest :v?

One of the keys in this matchup is not losing your Solarian to a theft.

Once you’re in the late game, you can keep pumping out a power turn after power turn. It’s rare for a priest to be able to handle all the damage potential you have access to.

But you need to pace them out appropriately.

I mean, it’s a game between two classes that never run out of ways to clear the board. So the winner is usually the one that can do damage from hand, so that’d be you. Accumulate burst, set the Priest to 15 with Alex, and burn’em down. You’re the favored deck in the match-up, it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out how to win.

you have to go for early tempo vs priest. if you wait until turn 7-8 the priest will already have the tools necessary to deal with whatever you play and you will be fighting an uphill battle.

grinded to legend with highlander mage yesterday so some tips:
-against res priest(barely exist on ladder) keep reno (hero) and zephrys, just clear their board over and over and play just enough minions to contest their curve. use reno and zeph to deal with their mass res turns.
for gala priest
-keep zephrys and play it for wild growth on turn 2, wild growth lets you play out big threats a turn earleir which makes a huge difference
-keep dragoncaster in mulligan, its your best swing card for tempo.
-dont be afraid to go for dragoncaster + box on turn 6 if your hand is bad
-only play your solarian if you can kill it yourself, dont let it be stolen
-always consider what play gives the most tempo
-always consider what removal they have available at their turn before making your play
-dont overextend, bait out their removal with medium threat boards
-save reno as a panic button if they somehow swarm the board with a stolen dragonqueen etc
-hold og alexstraza. if the game goes long its a huge swing in fatigue to put the priest from 20+ to 15
