Na, what’s cringe is going from D1 to D4 on a 10 game loss streak because you queue into a counter deck every game and they get everything they need in first 10 cards. Clearly I just need to play better, lmfao. You climb based purely on luck(queuing into their counter).
I just never top deck perfection, ig it’s a skill issue. ZZZZZ
I had this happen every month for 3 months in a row. Giga loss streaks staring 1-2 stars away from Legend.
It’s not the players cheating, it’s matchmaking algorithm at work. If you got from D4 do D1 in a reasonable amount of time, means your winrate is high (and that of your opponents is low) and it seems like algorithm starts equalising the overall winrate to be around 50%. No matter what deck you play, you just lose and nothing you can do about it.
Not a fact, just an observation.
My first 7 games as an “aggro” mage were vs 5 Blood DKs and 2 Armor druids with perfect draw. I pushed through and started having my own 3-5 winstreaks after that (vs other decks)
For me I noticed even switching decks every loss I always queue into counters. I play armor druid, it’s aggro druid with trogg turn 1. I play aggro, it’s frost DK auto loss. I play dragon paladin, it’s priest control. I play imp lock, it’s blood dk and I lose after turn 5.
So is the game just rigged? Lmao.
Btw, this only started around D3. I went from bronze 10 to diamond 5 in one day. Then the wins just stopped because my opponents have godsent rng.

That’s not how the matchmaking system works…
It can’t, and doesn’t force a 50% win rate on you. If it did, no one would ever climb, and we would all be at the same rank.
All it does is make you start playing against higher ranked players as you win more, and in D1, you may face people in legend already that are at your MMR. The game doesn’t take your deck into consideration when you click play.

I have no idea if cheating is a thing in this game, but why do they have a report cheat button?

nah it is not true at all it forces you to %50 but you are still playing against another players so they make mistakes and fail the favor the game grants them.
Then it isn’t forcing you to a 50% win rate.
It also doesn’t even try. (No matchup is a guaranteed loss at any rank anyway, so even the people that aren’t making mistakes to toss the match still fail to have the system force a 50% win rate)
Rigged matchmaking like that just isn’t something that happens, and there has never been any evidence that it does.

In games like overwatch/Diablo/starcraft “hacking” is typically just using a program to automate your gameplay (aimbot, using a bot to farm rifts for drops while you afk, or automating tasks more efficiently than a human could do them). Hearthstone does have an issue with botting, especially in wild and classic.
What you seem to be talking about is rigging draws, which is borderline impossible to accomplish because draws are determined on blizzard’s end. You would need to hack into blizzard servers to do something like that, which is SIGNIFICANTLY harder, riskier, and more illegal than just using a bot to play for you

Luckily there are ways to manipulate the algo. To avoid these bad experiences alltogether.
You will give up on climbing further at that point but you wont drop either.

What are some strats? I played like 10 games last night, still diamond 4. Is it to win a few then switch decks? I went on a 6 game win streak last night with blood dk, then I started to queue only into BDK mirrors or frost DK mirrors with insanely good rng, lost 4 in a row. So should I have swapped decks?

Ok so explain the counter decks? If it only went by win rate then you would not queue in to so many counters. If it only matched you based on MMR you would not see so many counters to the deck you are playing. If I am playing an off meta deck that counters aggro I should still be getting matched against aggro decks when my MMR is high since alot of the meta is aggro decks. Yet magically that does not happen. Even an off meta deck gets countered and there is no explanation since they never match based on deck type right…yeah I call shenanigans.

Play more games, see the average distribution even out. Most people give up after less than 10 games of “counter decks.”
There would be no way to actually effectively program a matchmaking system to identify your off-meta deck, have enough data to know what would counter it, and have that deck immediately on hand to put you up against it (which would be arbitrarily feeding that deck wins for no reason JUST to screw you).
It’s just the human desire to see patterns where none exist.
