This card is seeing play in 2 of the T1 decks in the meta (according to VS). In its nerfed form that is probably one of the hardest nerfs of all time.
How broken was this in dragon priest in its unnerfed form? Holy mother of pearl.

Dragon priest to win by turn 7 every game.
If you weren’t lucky that the Dragon Priest didn’t find Naralex or you didn’t defeat them by turn 7-8 then the game was pretty much lost.
No, dragon priest was not that good.
First, there were many strong aggro decks when dragon priest was alive.
Second, dragon priest needed to reach turn 8 to begin their strong play. The recent two decks have much more powerful play before turn 8. Sometime they could have powerplay without naralex (turn 6 mini scoundrel into fyrakk, or ysera).
Naralex is not powerful.
It is manacheating Naralex and then playing Fyrakk / Yzera as early as turns 4-5-6 what is really powerful.
Dragon Priest had no way to do it and also it had to run a bunch of weak dragons and that’s why it was a weak deck.
Naralex and Briarspawn Drake were introduced in the same expansion.
Yes but the deck itself had existed before that. It only broke because of Briarspawn. Without Briarspawn Naralex wouldn’t have needed to be nerfed.
