Honorable kill: easier than I thought

Honorable kill has definitely been easier to trigger than I expected it to be. The trigger value is usually 2 or 3, which are common health levels for the cheap minions. There’s also a lot of ways to ping a minion first via damage from hand, rush, or a minion which was already on the board.

I’m definitely enjoying the mechanic more than I expected. I’ve got a wild warlock deck whose sole goal is to complete a bunch of achievements and I’ve been triggering HK a lot.

I like the HK mechanic, it makes you think about combat/removal in a bit more depth and as we get used to it there is counter play with strategic trading and buffs ( or even debuffs!).

It exemplifies the improved direction of Alterac, the new cards don’t build a deck for you, there isn’t some busted HK payoff card that requires you to run every HK card available ( i.e. 5 mana 5/5 , if you have triggered Honourable Kill 4 times this game all your minions in hand, deck and board get charge and windfury).

More stuff like HK and less stuff like Questlines please!

Old Guardian on YT just put up a video today showing how terrible HK is, you must be playing low rank if it’s working well for you? It’s simple really, by playing HK cards you are omitting cards that are just … better, in general. No serious high tier deck is using them, for good reason

I said “easy” not “powerful.” Like I said, it’s for achievement purposes.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played priest hero and raised like 7 Korraks.

The key to korrak is killing him yourself, especially late game when their removals have been spent. I’ve won tons of games because of korrak. It’s not easy later on to do an honorable kill on him, but it is easier earlier on.

I got replays to show how the enemy is helpless against it

Today I discovered that if a spell says “deal 6 damage. the excess goes to the enemy hero”, korrak will only receive 5 damage, so it counts as an honorable kill
