The treasure option of Holy Book states to silence and destroy a minion, summon a 10/10 copy of it. If used to destroy an enemy minion, do I get the 10/10 copy on my board or do they? Is this meant to only be used on my own minions to guarantee myself the 10/10? I wonder because ive had unintended consequences by using the divine shield and make a 1/1 copy of it spell on an enemy minion fully ready to snipe away the divine shield and minion i targeted thinking I would end up with a 1/1 of their minion. Only to find out they got it instead. Mistakenly giving my opponent a faster win condition as I just conceded once I saw my mistake.
Before I select my next prize in my duel run, I need to know as I cannot find any info or forum posts from my initial searches for this duels treasure. (aside from the same stuff the card itself says but nothing more to elaborate how it functions for the owner of the targeted minion and the one casting it.)
Edit: doesnt matter now but I still want to know. I picked a different treasure in order to keep going and I was pitted against an impossible enemy, they had a deck full or divine shield minions, a passive that gave divine shield to non shielded minions when one with shield is summoned, and when a divine shield is popped they get +2/+2. Also had the hero that gives +1/+1 and a random ability, divine being one of them. I got to turn 3 and I was against a formerly 1/1 taunter turned 8/8, with a couple formerly 4/2 DS minions with either a spell triggered or frenzy triggered DS regain. They were now both 10/8s at this point and regained their DS. So turn 3 with a 8/8 taunt, and 2 10/8 DS minions able to swing at me. I couldnt keep a minion on the board in those 3 turns so it was just auto end of the run for me. Wasnt a thing anyone could do against all that.
Whatever minion you use it on, the copy is yours. So for example, the enemy plays annoy a tron. You cast your spell on it. His minion no longer exists and you now have a 10/10 annoy a tron with divine shield.
If the enemy minion has a deathrattle, it will not activate.
If you have a minion and use it on that, it destroys your minion, no deathrattle will activate but you get a fresh 10/10 copy.
If you have a charge minion, use the charge then cast the spell, it destroys the minion but now you have a fresh 10/10 with charge.

ok thank you, i appreciate the first hand experience of playing it. You’d think all cards that summon a copy would only summon for you but that is not always the case and ive learned the hard way at least once.

No problem. It’s a great spell that is offset by it’s slowness in a mode where you can lose the game by turn 2. In situations, rare IMO, it can win the game. There are usually better options. The problem is that too many decks have too much going on for that card to really do much. I think in over a year of playing only duels with a heroic rating in the 7k+ range I made use of it once…maybe.
I have only played heroic mode once, and it was a slaughterfest of perfect draw vs normal random card draw. Ill never do it again, casual for me as thats hard enough to get a win, or multiple wins. highest streak ever has been like 7 or 8 wins for me in over a year of playing duels.
I just wish I could filter out in the my collection section to see the Duels compatible section of my cards so i can premake a deck for a given hero because when Im forced to make it every time Im always forced to wing it on what i want to put in or what I hope my treasures could be. Not that it matters, I can play c’thun deck and Ill be offered all divine shield related treasures and if i build a divine shield deck Im offered all deathrattle treasures. Nothing ever is offered like what Im always pitted up against. I havent seen a single enemy in duels that didnt have a “i picked this because it was the least terrible option” passive. EVERY opponent i face gets a passive that is synergized with every card of their deck.
Sure would be nice to get offered that once in a while…
