I had everyone told me that wild was a baby mode and didn’t matter, and that wild legend 100 was easier than standard gold, and legend was the real challenge after already doing it 7-8 times.
So i played legend to get another dust pack.
And immediately got #598 of top 1k legend rn

Haven’t been mmr grinding just the rank i got literally after finishing the grind was top 1k. I’m not a winrate grinder, i’m just a vet from Classic/gvg who’s had enough experience to play anything i want.
And am unhappy with the state of wild questlock killing experimentation to the point i reladdered in standard to top 1k legend running my own refined and tweaked list.
I wanted to do more, but you know… only so many viable overload cards and only so many obvious cards that win you know. Standard only has like 1/10th of the card pool to play with and synergies were obvious.
So since there’s only so many cards that worked in standard, i took a glance through at higher winrates but more expensive decks, and saw two choices. Spend 5k-10k dust on a expensive pally for a 65-70% winrate.
Or spend 300 dust on a then unrefined 55-60% wr quest shaman
The deck started off pretty awful, lots of questionable decisions. it needed nature synergy and had cards that blocked it’s own draws. I don’t usually try to refine standard decks, but this time i just made some choices because i wanted to. I took investment opportunities out, i put more threats.
I watched the gameplay and refined the deck as i played it with my experience taking my own wild homebrews to wild legend. And while some memey ideas like cheesemonger never took off, i pretty much just got to 1k legend on a f2p dust and immediately hit Rank #598 the moment i hit with a almost 88% winrate (23:3 in the mirror).
So when decks were equal, the very mirror itself where all decks are the same and skill the only factor, i won every mirror almost 90% of the time whenever another person played the same deck.
So i hit top 1k standard and think wild questlock is still a problem until i hit 1k legend. Now i am, on a whopping 300 dust as a f2p with my own tweaked list i made half for laddering, half to win. Skill issue right? There were also like 10-20 minor one card variants. I constantly made minor tweaks with cards with feel how.
I’m still sure cards like Torrent, Overdraft, and more or less aoe can all have a place in the list, but here’s the deck if you want to try it out. No guarantees if you do 40-60% with the same lists though. But it seems like in lower level players hand you can still either play as tempo or control. Quest mage and floor mages… are unironically, the worst part of the matchup and plague every 5/10 rank.
But once you get past diamond 2 they tended to disappear thankfully. My tweaked list of Quest shaman removes dead cards like investment opportunities, added in more minions and refill post SOS lock’s demise.
No guarantees if you’ll get the same. At least it’s a deck with lots of tricks that you can find playing it, from powerful openers, discovers, and the ideal or prefered ways to play the mirror. Likely the law of averages say every mirror should tend to be around 50%.

Ideas to try:
o Want more tempo or overloading a lot? Try swapping out a card for Overdraft.
o Want more aoe? Try more lightning storm or Landslide (Especially with primordial studies)
o Overdraft is a great card. There are lots of great cards that all worked, the deck could just try to generate 1-2.
o I really wanted to try putting cornelius in the deck. Sadly i don’t have him, but imagine he could be fun to try!
Anyways as far as meta goes most everyone i saw up there was pretty much pally, and some lifesteal + anatheron + 1 mana 6/6 taunt handlocks for the most part and the deck goes 50 50 with pally and lock.
Also for the top 50 wild here was the Midrange raza i used to use in wild in Scholomance i had a jam playing. It’s dead now, it played less combo and more tempo and utilized Recruiter + spawn of shadow shenanigans to help attrition or otk, as well as squashing as another flex otk like a multi headed hydra.
I loved the deck but it’s dead to wild questlock and went from a legend deck to dead in a pit overnight with wild questlock. Hate that deck.

(Code removed since deck was intensely fun but dead to questlock. Was my passion pet project deck. )
For the record i’ve also gone 70-78% winrates and also have done legend like… i guess it was 6-7… +1… So… now 7-8 times.
I don’t know if you’d actually benefit from the deck if you already have a pally, but if you want to try the deck. it’s actually pretty close to dirt cheap and feels pretty fun to play. nearly all cards except the quest are commons and rares you can open up in packs.
I think pally might have a significantly higher winrate and more legend representation, but it’s a pretty good deck and pretty cheap right now minus 1-2 legends. (Fireheart isn’t as important early on, and the deck works without them, but they’re huge for saving for a turn 8-10+ and comboing or using with lightning blooms. ) And a lot of parts are replaceable.
Go nuts. But fair warning, if everyone goes shaman, quest mages might actually start climbing the ladder and face burning everyone. So, Good luck.
Edit: oh god my ques are 5 minutes long now BLIZZ WHY
