Highlander Hunter and Zephrys

I did NOT expect myself to enjoy this deck, and this card, so much. This is like combining elements from spell hunter, secret hunter, and mid-range hunter into one improvised mess that has options for days.

And Zephrys. This card must be broken, but boy is he fun. So much fun to play.

Yeah, the deck is good, and strong against anything that doesn’t have definitive finishers. That 3/3 that’s summons 2 2/2s if you have a secret is brutal.

So much flexibility, draw and card generation available to Hunter, I think it’ll be a plurality of the meta for a while to come

The best part is, I don’t feel it’s unfair. It does a lot of things decently, but isn’t outstanding in any particular area.

It’s a deck where piloting really matters.

I’m thinking of giving it a try. Turns out Hunter has good cards!

Highlander are my favorite decks in hearthstone… and this expansions reaffirmed that.

Bomb warrior isn’t ruining it tho?

Everyone’s wagoning on control warrior.

When Brann was first announced, this was the first Highlander deck dismissed. The problem is that the arguments were exactly the same as those dismissing Rhok Delar and Spell Hunter two and a half years ago, which turned out to be completely wrong.

To my understanding, many players (including myself) were considering hunter to be the most optimal class to run highlander with. My opinion on this only gained further steam when I saw Hunter’s Pack.

I think brann and sir finely are the only high impact high lander cards outside of Zephry. Finding the perfect card is turning out to be pretty good.

Lol, just not long time ago Hunter had a 4-mana card to summon four 3/3s.

It really shows how current cards are no match for those in the golden age of Hearthstone.

This comes out a turn earlier, and is a beast so you can tutor it. The condition is vastly different, too. Not sure why you’re comparing the two.

I don’t think Hyena is quite as good as hyped, but it’s well worth its slot for sure. Probably partially due to reborn effects and rush being so good against hunter.

hunter spellstone was 5 not 4 mana… and I am still weirded out by the fact they chose to just increase the mana cost as nerf rather than increase the number of secrets to play for upgrade.

Yes, later on, after more cards were shown, community reaction changed. But when Brann was initially shown, the usual “Hunter doesn’t do control” type comments were predominant.

Even after everything was shown many notable streamers like Dane, Trump, and Kripp still were predicting it would fail.

Highlander hunter seems good, but is it better than Dire Frenzy and Masters Call? I think in the long run, beast builds will dominate hunter again.

Normal beast hunter can’t match the explosive turns that are quest rewards and current aggro decks.

You’d think so but I haven’t even countered them since exp release. Not sure why.
