I think its just sad that they are hiding this game under free to play curtain when in all reality the decks with the most dust value are the strongest decks in the game, its not a coincidence, where is the logic of disenchanting a legendary card for 400 dust and requiring 1600 to buy the same card and that goes for every rarity, this makes no sense and it makes it very clear that this game is pay to win, if you want cards you have to pay or you don’t win, as simple as that, why don’t they just promote the game as pay to win it would make more sense
Soooo, where you been the last ten years? Under a rock? The game is the same now, as it has always been. There’s a free to play option. You’re welcome to grind gold for packs. If you’re good, you can advance well on a F2P account. Check out @Rarran on YouTube. He went to Legend on a F2P account as have others over the years. Like any CCG, they want you to buy packs. But calling it P2W is kinda dumb -
you pay for gameplay diversity, but it’s perfectly doable to get 1 good deck to carry you to legend relatively fast and for free
Its not a moba game or counterstrike or an rpg, where cosmetics kind of have value. Its a free to play game but they need “gas” to keep it going. We can argue that the prices are obsurd but there are many cheap valid decks the past months. Ele mage was tier 1 for 3 months and still viable now with 1 or even no legandary. There are versions of secret hunter with 2k-3k dust. Weapon rogue is a top deck for months with no legendaries and 2 epics for 1k dust. You can basically build super strong zerg decks right now for free if you get the miniset with gold. The disenchant value could seem a rip off but its something compared to other card games where you get zero value back from a crafted card.
I would add that Blizzard doesn’t care about the players at all, just look at how it tolerates and encourages barcode decks in arena, fueling a scam business for years
Not anymore – I would of agreed with you but this last mini-set has changed that dynamic. The new cards are just TO powerful, and if you want even a slight chance of winning enough to go up the ladder you must purchace this new mini-set.
Using a mini set for the pay to win argument is kinda counterproductive
Minisets have the best gold-to-cards ratio of all that is available PLUS you know exactly what you get when purchasing them
A miniset with high powerlevel greatly reduces the difficulty to get a strong deck, especially when it allows its cards to be ran across multiple classes
The only requirement is that players have to be informed and bank their gold before it comes out
If you want to play expensive decks in constructed, you can pay with cash or time. Playing expensive decks as F2P is doable— you just cannot download the app and do this immediately, because it takes time to build up a card collection as F2P.
The Battlegrounds does have P2W elements.
HS was released under a gacha game model, which typically preys on human psychology by making players think that “if I spend money on the game, it will become more fun to play.” A lot of problems that HS has had may be intentional in order to drive gatcha-based psychological spending, which is a mistake, IMO. I warned the devs not to go down the gatcha path during year one, because I thought if they focused on that model, the game would be a lot less fun, would attract and retain fewer players, and make a lot less money. I think that HS could have made nearly a billion dollars more, if they had gone done a better F2P path in its development.
Sometimes this ^ is true, sometimes it’s not. It varies. Sometimes a cheap deck is the best deck in the meta. Although I think the trend of the best decks being very expensive is becoming more common.
Your opinion matters but it’s pointless to come to the developer of the game’s own website to complain because more than likely they have paid shills to counter any criticism or complaint. Reality, the game is very much Pay2Win. Can you get legendary with a free to play deck…possibly! But it definitely won’t be EASY as the shills in this post claim. More than likely it will be lengthy grind. And you can’t rely on YouTubers as you don’t know if they are being paid to promote the game aka influencers.
Ive lost like 20 times in a row and my deck isnt thaat crappy in gold rank. Pay to win… bought to uninstall. Not fun anymore.
Anything can be not crappy in gold. That’s still a rank where ppl don’t have much Idea of what is actually strong in the game
When I started playing I reached gold by just playing all divine shield minions in the game, with no synergy whatsoever
Reaching gold means you’ve beaten the silver players that are only silver because you can’t lose stars in bronze
It’s the equivalent of being the best among your friends then realizing the online world exists
On the topic of P2W, just look at cycle rogue. A deck that was one of if not the best deck in high legend befor elast patch. All you need for it is 2 legendaries, the rest are common, rare or free cards. Basically a top meta deck that costs only 5 000 dust, maybe 6 000 before the nerfs. That’s nothing
HS is only p2w for people too lazy to grind for the dust and want everything RIGHT NOW
It’s impossible to do that, if it’s a new account, playing for less than at least 1 year.
1 year is too little. Usually you need TWO rotations to be comfy with deckbuilding.
Topic is about Pay to Win, not about paranoid complotist theories
