I’m sure the following has been thought of by many Hearthstone players. Wtf is the point of the exp points??? It has no perk and if it wasn’t there and players just get a achievement completed notification it would still make no difference. Infact, for me it’s rather annoying to see those points and you can’t utilize them.
They should really make it available as currency to acquire something in game or just remove it completely.
Thoughts?

The like xbox points or something. Just some form of endorphins to make you feel like you’re accomplishing something by wasting your time with video games.

Tell me something ons a different topic, don’t want to make a new thread for this, but zilliax 3000. Is it a free card or what, i don’t have it.
Nevermind. Don’t know what was free this go.
No, you have to craft it, and it’s a legendary
On my old account i got it for free, didn’t craft it. But on the new account, nothing. I think its to do with account level.
No
Maybe you got it in a pack
Or it’s a part of one of the newer loaner decks?
No it’s in none of the loaners. Might have been in a standard pack, or now that i think of it perhaps it came with the catch up bundle you can buy. Either way, im definitely sure i didn’t craft it.

Progressing the rewards track gets you gold, packs and cards

I think you understand the question wrong. In game the exp points you accumulated shows as a " currency" just as gold shows. If you can’t use the collected points they have no purpose. Why show the player his/her total experience points if it has no purpose.
What experience pts? Are you talking about your ladder rank or the pts you gain each time you play on the pass track? There’s no other points you accumulate in game.
Achievement points. My bad.
Oh you mean like they do in WoW? Doubtful they ever do anything like that. It’s mostly just a vanity thing for anyone actually trying to accumulate them. There are a few that let you get exclusive portraits though.
I only purposely get Achievements that either:
- Give me useful cards I dont have (e.g. Audio Amplifier; Lorthemar);
- Give me xp for gold (with which I buy mini-sets that have cards I want for wild).
That’s the ftp life I guess. The rest is just addiction gimmicks.
What they should do is have the ability to view other people’s profiles so you can see how many achievement points someone else has, among other things.
Idk, seems to me that if you use the name of one resource that actually exists in your opening post and thread title, when you actually mean a completely different resource with a different name, baiting multiple replies, and then when it’s cleared up you still don’t edit the opening post and you don’t change the thread title, then you’ve gone from maybe trolling accidentally to definitely trolling on purpose

Why would you think that ? Why are these your only options ?
Achievements are made with the primary purpose to give goals and milestones of progression for the players. Achieving them is the reward of accomplishement.
Why would you remove a system that works exactly as it is designed just because it doesn’t offer extra purchasable rewards ?
No my friend you still dont understand. Let me try again. Lets say you complete an achievement and get +20 points to add to your existing 5000 points, these points just accumulate, yes it shows your total achievement points for all the ones you have completed combined. My question is, those points, your total tally that’s being indicated i wouldn’t mind if those points that have already been earned and just hanging there could be used to buy something with. If i could upload a screenshot here it would remove the confusion.
Im not saying they should remove the achievement point system. But instead, the points you have already accumulated, that those ones could be used as currency.
I would mind.
I am saying that. The achievement system is a psychologically manipulative mechanic that weaponizes player agreeableness and converts it into fostering addiction. Blizzard will knowingly include epics and Legendaries as prerequisite for achievements to make achievement hunters waste dust for no reason. The vast majority of achievement hunters will unironically spend time making number go up when they literaly can’t spend it on anything. Every gamer who cares about their own mental health should ignore every achievement system completely, in this game and every other.
That works pretty well in a pay to play game like WoW but HS can be played FTP and that would cause an imbalance they don’t want to create. The fact that you can get points on the seasonal track to earn gold is a big enough deal that when MS took over they took the achievements each expansion and halved them. Too many points given freely in their minds.
