This year do we get full dust refund for the cards going to the Hall Of Fame? Or dust refund as if i would disenchant the card?
Also, if for example i spend dust to create a golden Acolyte Of Pain today, which is 400 dust, will i get 400 dust refund back when it goes in Hof or not?
I opened a classic pack i won from Tavern Brawl a few minutes ago and got a golden Mind Control Tech which is 800 dust to create, so will i get 800 dust refund when it goes to Hof?
Side question: Do you only get a dust refund for the first two cards you own in Hall of Fame situations? I’ve got like 100 classic packs unopened just sitting there with no reason to open them. Is it worth opening then in the hopes of getting a bunch of the HoF cards?
I would wait and open them after March 26 when u can get different cards each time and no duplicates, but it’s your choice if u want to risk it because 100 packs are a lot! I read in a post from last year that if you craft the gold ones that are going in Hall of Fame before they go into the Hall of Fame then u get the full dust refund u spend and also keep the cards. If that’s true for this year as well i’m going to start crafting but i need someone to confirm this first!
if you have 4 non golden acolyte for example, you will only get dust for 2.
if you have 2 golden acolytes and 2 non-gold you will only receive dust from the gold 2 acolytes, etc.
They plan on releasing demon hunter cards in the classic set so I suggest you keep your packs until they release those, especially with the new rule, you’ll get all the new cards instantly.
As for OP, yes you will get the dust from tge crafting cost
Thanks! So right now if i start crafting the gold ones that are going into HOF, i should get the full dust refund right? I wanna start crafting if that’s true!
I bought and opened a few packs before I realized this. Def wait.
I was going through my collection a few weeks ago and realized I was still missing soooo many epics. I mean, an unreal amount of epics based on the sheer number of packs I have opened. It’s not even remotely worth it until this is implemented
It’s definitely when opened, they confirmed it a few years ago. Look at the triclass bug, only packs opened before the hotfix were affected, even prepurchase packs.
They’ve actually said that Demon Hunter won’t have cards in the Classic set for quite a while, maybe not until next year. The idea is to use the Initiate Set and the extra 5 cards that Demon Hunter will be getting each expansion this year to make up for the lack in the near term, and wait to decide which cards to shift over into Classic or what they need to add based on how the class plays out over the course of the coming year.
So, saving Classic packs until then is probably overkill. But saving until the 26th is definitely a good idea for the triplicate protection, and for the new Priest cards that are being added to Classic.
Note: Hall of Fame cards rotate out March 26, not April 7. Do not wait until they implement the new duplicate protection to try and open Hall of Fame cards. Craft your cards in the next 6 days, the dust refund will be given on March 26.
Make your craft choices for the HOF-bound cards by March 25. Do not go over 2 maximum gold cards for the commons, rares, and epics. Do not go over 1 maximum gold card for the legendaries. Same applies if crafting only regular versions.
Lets say you have 2 regular Mountain Giants and 0 golden ones.
If you craft none, on March 26 (after HOF happens), you get 800 dust (400 craft cost x2) for them.
If you craft 2 golden Mtn. Giants before March 26, then your crafting cost is 3200 (1600 x2 cards). After HOF happens, you get 3200 dust (1600 x2) back, but no dust for the regular versions. Highest dust value of cards you could include in a deck is returned.
In both cases, you keep all the Mountain Giant cards you own. In situation 1, you could later disenchant the 2 normal copies for 100 dust each. In situation 2, you could later disenchant the normal copies for 100 dust each, and the golden copies for 400 dust each.
Note: Have 2 regular Mtn Giants and do nothing, get 800 dust. Have 2 regular Mtn Giants, craft 2 golden ones, then disenchant golden ones gives you the same 800 dust (3200 craft cost, returned 3200 by HOF refund, then disenchant the gold ones (400 x2 = 800). If you keep the golden copies (and disenchant the normal copies instead), it will cost a little dust (600) but obviously better than being out 3000 dust (3200 craft cost - 200 disenchant value of 2 regular copies).
You will get profit from crafting the golden ones, only if you dont have the normal version.
Its because you will have the same amount by just waiting and receive the HoF dust of the normal ones. The loss just from the opportunity cost. You can do another stuff from those dust instead of allocating them on crafting soon to be HoF stuff.
This if you plan on dusting the golden epic and legendary.
You will still getting great profit from rare and common ones. since the golden has huge different compared to the normal one.
If you plan on using golden card in wild, then its a big profit since its basically a free golden card.
So, in conclusion. If you got the dust, just craft them all in golden (19.200 dust for this year HoF). Whether dust it or use it, you will get profit or losing nothing at worst. Just lose some insignificant opportunity cost.
Although, dont try and goes crazy to get those initial dust if you dont have it. The profit isnt that huge, if you arent planing on playing golden stuff in wild.
