I was playing against this deck AS a Priest…it just destroyed me. Granted, he high rolled hard, but still…the Lich King(s) kept giving him steal minion spell and the weapon.
The aggro/greed divide is so high today - not much mid range. Aggro I just concede, the greedy decks with frozen throne cards try to set up their own slow combo and let you walk to alignment. Then you play it and they are surprised and far from threatening lethal.
Alright, after another 10 games with this deck it just really has to draw in the right order. If you can’t draw your Hedge Maze you’re pretty much dead. But if everything goes right, it’s likely the most powerful end game deck out there.
You can tell he hasn’t seen the deck by the fact he hasn’t asked for nerfs.
Mind sharing list please?
Its a powerful deck.
I managed to get a win against one who had not played/drawn the location, But other then that It was perhaps 50% of my games last night.
Well, it was fun while it lasted.
This is the list I’m running:
In contrast to just good ol’ Ramp Druid, I find with this list that I have a ton of handsize issues, where I can’t dump cards out of my hand fast enough.

noticed you dont run finley
how do you deal with drawing hadronox /sesselie before you are able to play whomper ?
You get annoyed and continue playing the game.
It’s not the end of the world though.
Gonna sub in some farmers and give it try.

I told you it’s like a daily quest for him. It never fails. Soon he’s going to be complaining specifically about Hadronox, just wait.
Your posts over the last several days have made me believe I made the correct choice to “nope” right out of the game.
None of this is anything I consider fun.
I’m sure you’re having a ball, though.
I don’t really know exactly what you consider fun, but I think it’s in the realm of a meta where games are extremely fast, turn 4-5 game ends on average, so I’m guessing you really just want a hyper aggro meta. It’s definitely not that kind of meta.
But I do understand why you don’t like the game right now because some games can be stretched out needlessly.
For example, I was watching Melphina yesterday play a mill deck but the opponent was playing a pure secret Hunter deck. It was OBVIOUS that Melphina was going to win, but the secrets kept delaying the game over and over and over…I swear there must have been at least 20 secrets played. And when you’re playing against Hunter, it makes your minions and spells cost more where you have to play them twice as often because they return to your hand. I’d imagine watching and playing that sort of game is horrible for you, because it’s a waste of time.
A lot of games in the meta do feel like that. For example, vs a Ramp Druid (with or without Hadronox), if you’re not playing an aggro deck SPECIFICALLY, then this game will drag on. There’s really no mid game winner here.
I do feel there is a lack of strong Mid Range decks right now. But, if you look at the meta overall, it is really diverse in terms of deck types and viable classes. It’s not really bad unless you want extremely fast games all the time. If you want fast action paced games, you probably should just play Marvel Snap.
But I also find it odd you don’t like long games when you’re in love with games like TFT. TFT and Battlegrounds will last like 20 minutes each on average. Why is it you like long games there and not in ranked?
seems decent. viable for sure, even if it might ultimately be a tier 3 or low-mid tier 2 deck. Hadronox itself is a bit slow but the value pays off if you dont die. it’s extremely difficult to clear the board without triggering hadronox a second time, resulting in death. Loses to most aggro. been playing a new control curse warlock list and i bet that would be really good against it. runs lifedrinker to counter people who like to have a full hand and just because it is more healing and damage, especially combined with brann

No. And I know you know better.

This right here is the point.

In both of those games one is constantly making decisions and choices. Turns are timed and you have multiple actions and decisions to make on your turn.
In drawn out HS matches most of the time one player just plays slow as molasses and I don’t have the patience to care. You have four cards and one mana… play something.
Edit: I am actually playing ranked TFT right now, lol.

OK in this we might agree. Part of the problem I’ve always had with HS is that you can’t do squat on your opponent’s turn. It’s what I call the “board game boredom” problem. You do your turn, your opponent does their turn, but for half the game you’re not actually playing. This is why I like the MTG format a bit more because you can interact with your opponent on their turn.
But this isn’t a “meta is bad” problem, it’s a fundamental game design problem.
But I doubt this will ever change. We’re stuck with what we have and to change it now would be a complete game rework.
So if your problem is “game lasts too long because I spend more time doing nothing” than I would counter with “I like long games because I like investing more time doing more stuff in 1 game”. But at the heart of it all, we want the same thing - more game time for US.
So there are decks that play their cards and there are decks that play one big card at a time, and the decks that play one big card at a time tend to be the ones where the players take the most time to play that one card.
This is the problem. It’s not a design thing, it’s a value oriented decks take all day to really not do much of anything interesting.
That’s weird, my experience is just the opposite. I find that aggro players take longer to play than anyone else. Especially aggro Druids. They sit there trying to figure out if it’s better to attack the minion on board, buff and go face, etc and just waste tons of time acting as if the deck requires some super complicated puzzle that needs to be solved. As a Priest player, I’m often playing faster than my opponent as anyone spectating me can attest. Turn 6 - 6 mana I’m dropping a 6 mana minion with almost no other option. I’m constantly waiting for my opponent to play and I’ve likely already determined what I’m going to do on my turn when the opponent hits end turn unless the board state changes massively. Waiting on the aggro player to drop minions, draw and buff when I’m just sitting there with a Clean the Scene in hand waiting to play it.
