Greetings that sounds like greetings

Can we have all greetings be none hostile please? Or at least greetings that seem like greetings.
Sure characters can be edgy and that. I’m okay with that. But a TOO hostile “Hello” doesn’t even reflect a greeting.
For example Deathstalker Rexxar says “Start running, prey”. That rather seems like a threat. But we already have a threat. So we’ve got two threats and no greetings.
I really want to be able to have a sophisticated conversation before I will hunt you down forever <3
Without a proper greet, how ever will I be nice to new players?

it would be nice if they just open the floodgates and allow typing chat to the person you’re playing against. if they’re rude you can just squelch them after all. it worked in the 1990s and 2000s with online games even when people were mean we just lived with it or got them banned.

I don’t think Blizzard want to manage all the chat reports that will come from that. That’s a huge workload

You are basically asking for non toxic voice lines from toxic characters.

It’s like going to a heavy metal concert and asking if they can have a quiet session for people that don’t like loud music.

They aren’t going to change the personality of a character to fit yours.

Add compulsory voice chat to all games.

This would lead to emotes having less personality and feeling sanitized.

Not everything needs to be cheery and friendly.

Just embrace the silliness man. HS is clearly trying so hard just to be the most over the top, zany, and casual experience a CCG can be. You’re playing the game entirely in the wrong mindset if you can’t handle a little banter. Also you can always squelch. You’re not playing chess. You’re playing HS. lol

Um, no. that’s precisely how a hunter ought to greet their target/sentient prey. Its not much different than “Ready or not here I come!” being said by whoever is “it” in hide n seek or tag or pretend dinosaurs or whatever game kids imagine they might play in person. Paying taxes? idk, I was only a kid for a short time and I missed a lot of it due to being introduced to star wars. So I’m used to a greeting being “I have you now…” or just “Hello there!” but can only be followed by “General Kenobi”

Well, unlike hs, I can plug my ears and not hear a thing for the entire show. but since they force it on us, I say it’s a valid opinion from OP.

Uhm, what do you mean by “unlike hs”? You have the option to literally mute your opponent. Doesn´t it count same as “pluging your ears”?

I’d have to replug them every song. nicer just to wear noise canceling headset, the entire time.

I can’t imagine being a porcelain princess where words in a video game could cause me to crack.

I mean, every hello can be perceived as ‘hostile’ or sarcastic, or just jokingly friendly.

The issue isn’t the emotes, it’s you… whole game is ‘kill the other player’ in a playful manor. My advice is, if you’re tilted or easily tilted, mute your opponent at the start of the game.

I’ll tell you if my BG luck is terabad for an hour, I mute emotes. Otherwise I know I’m going to tilt.

mmm you might be right
maybe my feedback will affect future added voice lines

OP Necro’d his/her thread just for this response smh.

And precisely 1 year later (at least on my timezone)

Where from do people get that I get offended by the voice lines? x)
I just have issue with having my dialogue options dimmed in nuance. I’m very social ^^

The most polite greeting I’ve found is squelch.
