This deck is very fun and legit, lost only 3 matches from D6 to legend vs rainbow DK, beast hunter and big rogue (I deserved this for dirty ratting their crabatoa on turn two). The climb was great as the meta feels very diverse and I ended up facing every class except warlocks (lol), mostly rogues and priests. The buffs to Turn the Tides and Coilskar Commander were quite relevant but I’m not sure I’d recommend the latter. Flint also hasn’t felt great but I love him, maybe Okani, Marut, Zola or Immolation Aura would be better choices. Haven’t run into many aggro decks so I’d recommend better tempo/value tools.
Haven’t reached legend since bomb warrior days , except this time it didn’t feel like I cheesed my way through lol

Apologies for going a bit of topic but that move gets on my nerves so much lol. Every time someone drops a Rat on turn 2 on me I have an urge to befriend them to tell them to never ever do that.
I did it once after someone kindly Ratted my Amitus and proceeded to omegalose from there; but they didn’t take it well so now I just shut up.
But yeah guys, except in very particular circumstances, Dirty rat on two is an awful idea.
Yeah that was a dumb move, I remember my hand only had high-costed minions so I tried to get some value on board while sniping a sparkbot or something. Plus that uncontrollable urge to spend mana haha
I never really enjoyed DH before, but as someone that loves highlander and midrange decks this one has been a blast!
Not on turn 3. And you want to activate Ignis. Having Watcher as your only Forge is bad, and my experience with Mechagnome Guide was that you are forced to choose between DH cards that are either bad or cost 2 or less to begin with, wasting mana discount.
Mechagnome made more sense when I played a relic package to get extra copies of them, but even in this version I wouldn’t drop it for Cyclopian since you need all the cheap spells you can get to activate the nagas.
I gave it a spin and i like it. Fun and interesting choices. Well done on the deck. It’s unfortunate it’s not as competitive as i would like. Very matchup dependent.
I think the sudden spurt of Reno DH success (if you can call it that, so far I’ve only seen me and OP) is driven by the unstable meta and absence of Sludge Warlock. OP says that there were no Warlocks, and when I went on a big winstreak from D3 to Legend about 10 days ago I think I only saw one Sludge Warlock. That was pre-nerfs when it was all Sludgelock, Warrior, Rainbow DK and Plague DK.
I found my matchup spread to be pretty fair with the exception of pre-nerf Sludge Warlock, Brann Warrior, and Control Priest, which as far as I can tell are lost causes for Reno DH. If you hold disruption (Rat, Theotar, Kurtrus) for Sif then you can easily beat Rainbow Mage, and if you high-roll a 10-mana armor weapon then Odyn Warrior probably can’t kill you.
But Rainbow Mage is currently experimenting and while I think new Energy Shaper makes it favored against Reno DH, if you play and build Reno DH well you might be able to scrape by. All subject to “Created By” RNG of course. If you get an armor weapon from Ignis then you probably win.
Control Priest is rearing its ugly head again and there’s basically no way that deck loses to Reno DH. Hopefully Rainbow Mage sends Control Priest back to the shadow realm where it belongs.
Brann Warrior is still here and if you don’t disrupt exactly Brann then you should concede as soon as the battlecry goes off. Once again, hopefully Rainbow Mage can send Brann Warrior to the shadow realm for the next month.
My experience has been very similar to what you’ve said, except for control priest. It’s tough but I usualy manage to apply enough pressure and have a very positive WR against it, being even my final boss before legend. Ignis is often a key player in the matchup.
Brann warrior has been my worst, completely dependant on Brann/Astalor and Odyn snipes. DKs are manageable and RNG decks will RNG. Share your build, I’m curious to see the differences.
This is version 8.0 on the deck tracker, which tells you how much I’ve been working on Reno DH since Badlands started. It’s a Renathal deck because the archetype has no proactive win condition and I think it has to win through card advantage.
I recently took out Harth Stonebrew, Audio Amplifier and Snake Eyes to include Aldrachi Warblades, Disposalbot, and Sunspot Dragon. But the meta is shifting to be greedier such that I want to put Amplifier and Snake Eyes back in. My list is pretty blatantly anti-aggro and it sweeps Aggro Paladin, Totem Shaman, and both Treant and Dragon Druid, which I saw burst in popularity immediately after the patch.
Steamcleaner is in ETC because, with a lack of proactive win condition, Reno DH is hopeless against Plague DK. I think Reno DH is probably the only slow deck that HAS to have Steamcleaner, and if you’re not facing Plague DK then either Theotar or Unleash Fel are just dandy.
I’m astonished that you say you can apply pressure to Control Priest. The last two that I faced (both yesterday) were both main-decking Svalna so they played 3-4 decks’ worth of cards and I had no chance. Without Svalna I’m sure it’s much more even.
