I’m sorry, did I say TWIST? I meant UNITED IN STORMWIND 2.0
I have less interest in twist than I did in classic, and I’m not sure I have ever played classic.
I think it’s a good concept, but I don’t trust this group to implement it in a way that works well because their track record is completely bad.
It would be ok IF…and that’s a big IF, they properly do rotation/rules that make it fun.
They totally dropped the ball with this new ruleset as the premier. It’s terrible.
UiS is quite possibly the worst expansion of all time.
They announced that the current twist, from outland to now with no neutral, will last until the end of July.
Then there is a small break in august.
Twist will then come back in September with new rules and new sets.
theyll disable the mode for a month?
ewww…
well then, hope everyone has fun playing UiS.
If you’re not playing some Quest deck or something crazy like Mozaki OTK, you aren’t going to be winning.
I’m playing Quest Druid now because you’re practically forced to if you even want to play competitively and the only thing I lose to is other Quest Druids or some lucky draw decks.
control paladin with cariel doesn’t work? There is no weapon destruction in the format.
if you’re facing Quest Druid you’re lucky if you make it to turn 7 to play her tbh.
Control warrior is also a deck that exists in the format, with some fan favorite like frozen buckler, shield shatter, rokara hero.
Most of that won’t work vs Quest Druid.
If you want to beat Quest Druid, you either have to kill it fast and outdamage it, which is hard because it will be gaining massive armor and you likely won’t, or you have to put up a ton of taunts, which most classes can’t do as fast as Quest Druid can spit out damage.
Quest Druid is basically the deck to beat.
Quest druid is very strong, but you’re over dramatizing the situation. There are counter play against quest druid.
Mage can freeze the hero and discover multiple alibi, warrior can gain 30/40 armor and put taunt on the way, paladin have the immovable object and the legendary spell…
I’m not over dramatizing anything. Did you watch any of the event last week? Quest Druid is THE deck to beat. If you think I’m lying go to Reddit or rewatch any of the reviews the players had.
The decks you mentioned were all built in order to attempt to combat Quest Druid, and they still struggle.
i’m watching Theo right now on his ping mage, doing ok against druid it seems.
They mentioned Twist would receive less balance patches than standard, but more than Wild. It would not surprise me if their first patch isnt to ban/renerf some of the quests and scheduled within the next 2 weeks of the new format.
Im very interested to see how they decide to balance the format. For dust related reasons.
I find it funny though, that the card everyone complained about last year, Guff hero, sees absolutely no play in twist.
you know why that is, don’t you? You know the deck that Guff made so good it had to get nerfed involved ramping into big Neutral minions…
yes. Tend to show a card is never busted on its own, its always within the context of a specific deck, a specific interaction.
Exactly. I’m a little shocked they didn’t unnerf it when it went to wild, but it would likely still be a bit busted with the mana crystal it gave immediately.
TWIST mode is just used to extract the value out of retired expansions. Once it’s not profitable for Blizzard, it will be dropped like Classic.
For those who already played UiS, I don’t see the reason to play this mode at all. It’s just wild with rotating sets, and Blizzard does NOT care too much about wild from previous records. Customers will just spend money to suffer…
It might suck now, but that’s almost exclusively because of UiS. if UiS was disabled, it would be 100x more enjoyable.
They have the ability to change the rules to make it better. But it’s their fault for making these the first set of rules without thinking.
