Despite owning the original gold copy of metamorphosis from ashes of outlands it does not allow me to use a golden core copy in standard
Do you mean that there is a gold core copy in your collection, and the game just won’t let you add it to a deck?
Or do you man that there is no gold core copy in your collection at all? In that case, a better description of the problem would be “gold core card missing”. When you say “cannot use”, that implies that you HAVE it, but (for some reason) you can’t PLAY with it.

It’s my understanding that gold Core cards are unlocked from achievements, not by owning the original card in golden.
So, it seems that you just don’t have that achievement (whatever it is).
All the other cards I own the original gold cards show up for use in core without me having any of their achievements (Ragnoros, Molten Gaint, Mountain Gaint, Justicar Trueheart, Leeroy), along with last rotation being able to use diamond benedicuts in standard so im not sure if that is entirety the issue
