I have played idk how many games recently with Ramp Druid, but it’s been a lot. I make sure to keep my hand as full as possible, but this doesn’t matter at all. Every single time opponent drops the Giggling Mad Duke, he tags my Denathrius. Invariably. I hear that giggle and it’s always an instant pick, and I know my ship’s sunk. If I don’t have Denathrius in my hand he’ll tag Guff. If I have neither in my hand, they somehow never play him until I do! I don’t know what the odds are stacked up by now, but it’s beyond astronomical, that’s for damn sure.
I’ve actually gotten some mild form of PTSD from this bizarre phenomenon as I swear throughout every match I’m hearing that little giggle phase in and out of my consciousness, as I know it’s coming to play a game of tag with surgeon-like precision.
Not only that, but holy **** I’ve never seen such a prominently played card since “Dr. Seven.” I’ve even encountered him in Implock… This card is going to force me to take a vacation…

Theotar adds a dimension to your deck that previously no hearthstone deck had in the past. Of course it would be played in every deck because disrupting your opponent is of the utmost importance in the majority of cases.
Also, that sounds super unlucky. Unfortunate brutha.

Do you know which other card is as ubiquitous as Theotar? Yeah, it’s Denathrius.
So - balanced, I guess?
P.S. Playing Ramp Druid (and the Bran/Denathrius combo) won’t net you too much sympathy here, I presume.

This is the main problem. It is continuous, absolute. There is no variance on my end. It’s just an absolute given
More “luck” based cards is not what hearthstone needs. Theo never should’ve been printed.

oh you are lying unless your hand is full of copies of other cards /duplicates
Oh, of course the “u r lying” weeaboo comes to town. Happens every time in this community…
hapening often because you hold replicates is possible
“absolute” is a lie
and “weaboo” ? is this because of my nick?..boreas is the greek god of the north wind…
It has never not happened exactly as I laid out. Not even once. So, where exactly is the lie?
And no, not because of the nick. Because of your adamant insistence that someone is lying, exactly because you say so with no scintilla of evidence to back up your claim. That is an arrogance only weeaboos exude
You are playing ramp druid and you want ppl to feel bad for you bc you lost Denathrius? Are you kidding?! What a joke.

I think Blizzard wanted Hearthstone to be a more homogenized experience. It really makes me wonder what % of standard decks are running Sire Den as at least one of their win cons. Considering how well he fits into so many of the popular decks, I’m sure the number is high enough that Blizzard should have realized that the card is too popular and is essentially ruining the game experience for many players. If I had to estimate just based on how frequently I see it in games, I’d say it is at least in 60% of current decks being played in Standard. Same can be said of Theotar, most likely. At this point, I’m not even sure that nerfing its infuse effect to 1 per 2 or 3 dead minions is enough to unseat it as the most popular card in the game. Druids, Shamans, and Rogues can still replay the effect or card itself and druids will still be able to Brann/Kael/Den and then use extra copies. Hearthstone is stale. I actually welcome it when I see a high-rolling ghost or weapon rogue because at least I know it’s not a deck that typically uses Den; I may lose the game to it, but at least it’s DIFFERENT.
I understand that it happens to everyone, but every single time without any variance? Yeah, I’d expect a bit of sympathy for that tbh
You’re running a straight up toxic deck that a huge portion of the player base absolutely hates and celebrates any and all chances to screw it over. That’s why you won’t get sympathy for your Denathrius being stolen.

Theo is the number one counter to Ramp Druid if Sire is your WC. Sorry it seems to always roll in your opponent’s favor, but Theo is fine with a card like Sire in the meta.

Removing denatrious from my hunter deck improved my winrate
They can’t steal denatrious if I don’t have denatrious

I removed Denathrius as well. Added a steam cleaner instead. Now I laugh at quest priests and anyone still running Kaz.

What in your estimation makes this particular deck “toxic” though? Were you not around for Shudderwock Shaman? Mill Rogue?
It seems like for some weebs strong = toxic, 1:1
You’re playing the most degenerative deck available in constructed standard. You deserve to have Sure Detritus stolen.
You’re making other players miserable with the deck you’re playing, so why is it a problem that they make you miserable?
Theotard is the counter to Detritus.
