Getting Nosdormu the Timeless from Netherwind Portal

Do you think this is fair?
Are you okay with such high-rolls?

And before someone says “Boo-hoo, you lost to a high roll”

No…

I was the one who won with that high-roll.

The game was decided then and there. Turn 4 I had an 8/8 on the board, followed by a 6/6 dragon from Learn Draconic. (turn 1 Learn Draconic, turn 2 used two rays of frost, turn 3 dropped Netherwind Portal, turn 4 used a fireball)

I didn’t feel like I got a good roll, it felt like a huge @$$ dice dropped on the head of my opponent, deciding that they’re gonna lose this one.

It’s not Sac Pac, nor DH - the whole game is bonkers at this point.

Sure. It might not feel fair at the time, but over the course of many games it balances out. For every Nozdormu there’s going to be one (or many) Keeper of Grove or Devoted Maniac.

In the long run we’re all dead.

Yes. So why worry about a lucky highroll?

It is probably fair in the statistical sense that multiple generative events balance out statwise. Whether it makes the game better to have such swingy cards is a different question.

I think they weren’t overboard these last two expacs with the tempo swing cards.

Noz isn’t run any longer because of how weak Paladin is and how strong other classes are with Noz. It’s an instant win condition for (almost) every class EXCEPT for Paladin.

It’s not that I would find it frustrating for someone to pull it so much as the fact that every class has more synergy with Paladin cards than Paladin does. It’s been like this for several expansions now.

So really, it just pisses me off when someone pulls my “best” cards and use them better than I can.

The Rogue Secret: Bamboozle can transform a 1/1 Lackey into Nozdormu the Timeless too. :scream:

Simply because something balances “in the long run”, doesn’t change the fact it sucks “now”.

Not everyone can grind 50 games per day.

Oh, man… who knew Nozdormu the Timeless would be so… secretive.
