Something is SERIOUSLY screwy, I made this character to try the new player thing (and get my shaman alt)
I did the demon hunter solo quest which gets a character to 20.
I’d barely played any games on the ladder, and went into tavern brawl because it was unlocked.
It then matched me against a legend player first game when this character is rank 37. (new)
Then it matched him against a 1000 win golden character.
This is NOT the experience new players should be getting, daresay the legend players wouldnt be having much fun either annihilating a newby.
You seriously need to look at the matching mmr’s it’s really screwy.
On a side note my normal character is around 18 on the old system, (silver 10 new system) on the new and it also matched me against a legend back player
I’ve never even been close to legend, it’s just really frustrating and unfair in the extreme.
If you want to be matched against people of the same rank as you, I suggest you play ranked games. Tavern Brawl has no ranks to it at all; it would be impossible to design a ranking system specifically for that mode, since the rules change completely week by week (I was very good last week, this week less so, for example).
About getting matched with Legend player at rank Silver (when you yourself are not close to ranked player), that would be wrong in my opinion. Do you have a screenshot of the event? How do you know the player is Legend, did it show the rank of your opponent, was it the card back, or discussion after the game? (Or did you mean that your other character was matched against a Legend player in Tavern Brawl as well, which as I said, is to be expected once in a while?)
this has nothing to do with rank, it just means the player likes that class.

I will confirm this. I have never reached legend (I prefer meme decks to netdecking) and have one 1000 win class and at least a couple more at 900. I’ve just been playing for 5 years.
