plague DK, just infinite 2dmg spells that get put into your deck you cant do anything about. Randomly gives the enemy free minions, free healing or locks your hand from being able to play what you want with you having 0 control over what is happening. Your turns become completely rng whether you draw a plague or not.
.
tentacle decks, you just sit there as they play higher and higher casting tentacles until they reach casting 10 mana spells and then just spam deal 10 dmg, summon a 10 mana minion every tentacle they play
.
dragon priest, you just sit there as they play their own game, you cant ever let a board develop otherwise they drop the âextra turnâ legendary and just kill you because all of a sudden all their minions get charge
.
dont even start with aggro DH where you just sit there as they play the weapon, then window shopper then a 7/8mana demon on turn 4/5 and you just lose on the spot
.
TNT BS deleting cards from my board hand and deck. People hated patchwerk. This is literally patchwerk x3 or x6 with double battlecries. LET ME PLAY MY DECK!!!
.
highlander decks,
remember when you had to do a quest,
in order to get a hero power,
that you had to then pay 2 mana to use, that gave you double battlecry,
for 1 TURN!!!
Now that effect is just on a card you play and lasts the entire game.
Remember og bran which you could actually interact and kill it to stop the double battlecry effect. Now the new brann the effect is on a battlecry meaning killing it does nothing and it now lasts all game. Ummmmm whatâŚâŚ talk about power creep
Do we need to even discuss reno? Neutral premium board clear + locks the board out next turn. Who designed this?
WHERE IS THE INTERACTION BETWEEN PLAYERS??? every game is just people playing decks you cannot stop. You just sit there as they play cards you cannot stop
Its trash. Stop spending money on this game people I beg. The devs will not learn. This game is not worth $500+ a year. There are so many better things to spend your money on than a game that constantly is broken
Yes, the game became a real sick joke⌠optimized for 10 year old kids now⌠you donât have skills? No problem⌠the RNG will win for you⌠pathetic crapâŚ
This post is just completely factual in every way. You used to be able to make decisions. Now every deck just plays itself.
A Warrior player chooses which one of itâs 20 removal pieces to play before slamming down Brann, Odyn, Reno or Boomboss.
A Demon Hunter player plays Umpireâs Grasp to reduce the Window Shopper and slam down a Magtheridon on turn 4/5 which deletes the opponents tempo and wins them a free game.
Death Knight players throws plagues into their opponents deck, makes them never-ending with a turn 3-4 Helya and wins from the random debuffs the opponents get. They get infinite value for no reason and all they have to do is stall the game with the insane list of cards a DK player has.
Hunters flood the board every turn and the opponent loses if they donât have that 7th board clear in a row. So close yet incredibly, incredibly far. Always a fun time when you see the opponent is playing Hunter and you donât have removal or AOE in your opening hand. Almost instant concede.
Etc. Etc.
I hate playing meta and avoid it as much as I can. This meta is truly sink or swim when it comes to the sorts of decks you can play to try and win.
Some space cadet is gonna say, âand you did nothing for 5 turnsâ like its clever or correct. Ugh.
Ive been trying to figure out why ive basically stopped playing this meta and this post is exactly right. It aint just a feeling of solitaire or lack of interaction, it feels weirdly soul crushing and torturous. Im not just losing, im like a bug getting its legs pulled off or a mouse getting batted around by a cat before dying. Sucks cause theres so many fun cards in this and last expansion, too.
This is the problem from the beginning, when you design a card game with no interrupt/ instant during the other players turn this is bound to happen. Hence why MTG is still the king of TCG.
The way people define interaction this game was never interactive. It always was you have to sit there and wait for the other player to do his turn before you can do your turn.
Competent players who appreciate the competitive aspect of the game can grasp that everlasting/noninteractive effects donât have a place in Hearthstone.
Noobs that think themselves as competent donât understand that the bumping yeti era ended 10 years ago. The game evolved much since then. Itâs time for the noobs to step out of their delusion of forever bumping yetis being the only correct way to play.
Agree on plague DK. very unfun to play against, especially when its no way to remove plagues from the deck.
When it comes to the tentacles, i dont think its the tentacles themselves are the problem, but the lack of 10 mana spells. Personally i would loved to see doom and tree of life (changed to 10 mana) added to core to screw with casting tentacles at 10 mana over and over again.
Extra turn is always going to be a problem.
DH i feel need a smal change to the weapon, personally i would like it to be a 2/3 weapon, and also add some demons to core that care/need its stats and i think DH is in a good place.
TNT i think is mostly a problem when you gets to put a lot of them into the deck. interaction with opponents hand or deck is something i feel is a good thing for the game. The problem is when it become too efficent. Would maybe have liked it to still have to pay mana for the spells that get shuffled into the deck instead of cast on draw.
I dont have such a big problem with highlander decks, i have a problem with highlander cards being used by non-higlander decks. Would a loved to see them check if the deck started with no duplicates instead.
Brann is in my opinion too good at 6 mana, and even at higher mana cost i dont think having double battlecries for the rest of the game is a good thing. Maybe change it to something like a location that dont lose durability and can be used every turn but only for the next battlecry or maybe for all battlecries that turn but only every other turn like other locations.
Reno is very powerful, but also playing a highlander deck is a lot more inconsistent compared to non-highlander decks, and therefor should be very powerful. But i do think he is too strong right no, maybe put him to 10 mana or maybe remove both sides of the board is better, i am not so sure.
I would also like to add Wheel of death as an extreme unfun card to play against and a card i often just concede against when played.
Interaction is being able to answer or reply to your opponents turn. When they play cards that just do things with 0 way to actually answer those actions is the problem
Easiest example is brann because its the same effect, double battlecry, but implemented differently
Old brann was a card which you as an opponent could interact with and kill, thus giving you interaction. They play brann, you play a card that kills it or trade and kills it. That not only creates player interaction but actually forces the opponent to use skill. They couldnt just slam brann down with no thought otherwise it would be removed
New brann requires 0 skill or thought, nor does it allow player interaction to be able to answer it. They play it and now they just get the double battlecrys for the rest of the game. Killing it has no effect. As an opponent you cannot do anything but just watch them play it and after they do its permanent and you cant do anything to remove the effect
The only legit answers are
⢠play plague DK to flood their deck with duplicate plagues, which is a problematic non interactive deck itself, putting spells into your opponents deck they have no way to remove and have complete rng effect
⢠or play rat, rely on drawing it in time before they get brann out and then hope when you do play it out you hit the lottery and pull the brann and not 1 of their many other minione. So its again Complete rng. + rat is just more uninteractive garbage no one enjoys playing against. Even when it hits a non combo piece having 0 control and losing the ability to play that card yourself is trash
Its not like old brann was outdated and not viable in modern hearthstone. He was literally rotated out of the core set because he specifically was too problematic being able to double cards like denathrius or astalor. So i dont know why they decided to make an even stronger version of the card where even killing it isnt an option. Doubling the TNT guy to shuffle 6 into the deck to delete 12 of your opponents cards with no way for them to remove them is just disgusting and shouldnt exist.
Not really. Paladin with their stat dumping playstyle has consistently perform very well throughout the years. Even just recently they were so OP they needed to be nerfed. The only reason the more win from hand OTK-y decks resurged is because of those nerfs.
I suspect eventually pallies and the board-centric decks will make a come back down the line. Theyâve done it before.
Power creep may mean theyâre dumping more than 4/5 stats for 4 mana, but the underlying nature of playstyle is still dumping stats.
And same applies to the win from hand decks. Itâs not like we didnât have antonidas OTKs or miracle rogues back in the day. Dragon priest is literally just waygate mage but enabled by dragons instead of spells. This isnât the first time DH was cheating out big demons that do a lot of immediate damage. Raging Felscreamer is one of their earliest cards. Theyâre just cheating out new demons that have power crept the likes of priestess of fury.
Charge was removed from the game due to lack of interaction. Thats why rush was added because it added minion interaction whilst removing player uninteraction
Stealth is also uninteractive. Luckily it rarely gets printed but the last few times it has theyve either made it purposefully weak or its been heavily nerfed. Ie. Sinstone graveyard, the 1/1 magnetic microbot etc.
not being able to actually answer your opponents play because it just immediately attacked, or you cant touch it because it stealth is trash
That is also why effects like freeze are mass hated because they remove player control and why otkâs are despised decks. The most fair hearthstone games are when you are opponent actually have to answer each others turns. Not just ignore them, play your broken power card like brann or the DH weapon into window shopper, and just win the game if they cant answer it
