Game ended in 'Tie'... Since when?

I’ve been playing since beta and I never realized they had a “Tie” outcome.

Usually when both players died on the same turn, victory was given to the one that initiated it.

What am I missing here? Was this implemented recently?

To be fair, for the longest time, if you “tied” with your opponent (by both dieing from the same effect, such as say, hellfire) the UI for hearthstone would always say “Defeat”. It is only in the last year or so they updated the interface to correctly say “Tie” when this happens. Perhaps this is where confusion stems from?

Note, even though the UI incorrectly said “Defeat” in such cases, it was correctly counted as a tie in ranking.

It’s always been there, it just comes up really rarely.

I actually tied this morning and discovered that it does in fact not break your winning streak bonus :smile:

Its always been this way. Nothing new.

beta here too, but I have only had one match end this way since 2013.
Doesn’t happen often, I guess.

I’ve had several ties(fewer than 10) in the last 5 or 6 years. Doesn’t happen too often though.

That sounds like a bug. Tie games used to break win streaks, a tie is neither a win, nor loss…

You gotta try harder. Not sure how many I have, but it would have to be close to, if not over, 100 tied games that didnt involve the turn limit.

Could be attributed to the fact that you play some very weird decks.

Yeah, I guess… Especially when you play an unhealthy number of games with a deck designed specifically to force a tie, it is to be expected I suppose.

I havent played it in a few yrs, dont think its still in my deck tracker. Will check when I get home in a couple of hours, if not I will reconstruct it and post it for ya.

yes, I’ve tied once in 8+ years…used a hellfire to take us both out rather than lose
