Fun/Decent Deck: Agony Warlock

Agony Warlock with 2x Curse of Agony + 2x Altar of Fire actually feels Decent/Fun because Kazakusan has warped the Meta so much.

General Game Plan:

  1. Draw a lot of Cards while Healing and AOEing/Removing.
  2. Play Altar of Fire. Preferably after drawing Agonies + Tamsin, but not always.
  3. Play Tamsin + both Agonies to shuffle 78 Agony Damage into opponents deck.
  4. Backup Plan: Kill the opponent with your Quest, because you have already drawn through your deck very fast and selfmilled through Altar of Fire.

Matchup Spread:

Demon Hunter: 2-0, Didn’t feel that hard. Dump hand while drawing until Glide is spent.

Druid: 11-8, Token should be farmable. You can bully Kazakusan if you draw Agony/Tamsin/Altar fast enough. Altar of Fire is nice to see what the Kazakusan discovered. You can still die, but you can also kill them by turn 7 with Agony.

Hunter: 2-0, There is enough Healing to easily outlast Face or Quest.

Mage: 0-1, Mostly reliant on Altar of Fire highrolls. Drawing Tamsin+BothAgony early can win, but unlikely.

Paladin: 0-0, Dead class. Probably easy-medium.

Priest: 3-1, Shadow Priest is mostly free. Miracle Priest seems dead now.

Rogue: 1-4, Quest Rogue should be easy. Weapon Rogue is hard.

Shaman: 5-1, You have enough Healing and Altar of Fire seems to mess them up.

Warlock: 1-1, Owllock is probably faster. Not sure about Handlock, you draw faster and Agony Warlock may actually be favored if you save both Altar of Fires and the Handlock is slow to complete their Quest you can OTK them.

Warrior: 2-1, Mostly easy.

27-17, 61% winrate, 189 legend.

43% of the Opponents were Druid over 44 games…

It should be noted that armor vendor directly counters your quest progress. It’s why I don’t run it with my handlock version that runs altar of fire and curse. It slows down your progression.

I think Armor only slows down Flesh Giants not Quest Ticks.

Can you share your list? I’m more into Fatigue Control or Combo, but want to see what’s working for Handlock style.

I’ll double check my replay, but the other day a warlock played armor vendor on 1 and my turn 2 hero power did not move my quest. I may have been mistaken.

My list is the traditional handlock but take out neophyte and slingers and add in curse and altar.

I would think that is a bug if it did not move the quest after armor vendor. It has only slowed down flesh giants in the past.

I had to go back into my replays. You’re right, the quest ticked but flesh giant did not. My flesh giant was my far left card and somehow I associated it with my quest.

But against Ramp Druid and other decks, you need giant down asap. The armor vendor also might stop your heal from the quest tick. The only reason I think you might want to run armor vendor is if you are playing more control and don’t care about completing quest fast or you want better matchups vs aggro.
