I literally was frozen 8 turns in a row by a mage deck. That is just one example how stupid this game has gotten. I guess we should just accept that this game will never get better. Its just going to keep getting worse. Why do we put up with this crap?
I feel your frustration, but you say it as though Mage is the most busted class, and eliminating freeze from it will cure the game.

Rework the freeze mechanic to not allow consecutive turn freezes on the same minion. Modern problems require modern solutions…

Yes, but they are largely a joke. Mallenroh is right, if you have to take away freeze, you must give Mage armor/taunt as a trade off.
And as I’ve stated before, freeze is more of a frustrating mechanic than it is a real problem.
You can freeze someone’s minion and/or board 6-8 turns in a row making it so they can’t use those minions and they’ll throw a fit.
You can cast 1 spell and completely erase them from the game and do it in 1 turn and nobody bats an eye.
Imagine you have an 8/8 on board. Priest can cast a 2 mana spell and destroy it. Perfectly fine, no complaints.
Now imagine you have an 8/8 on board. Mage can freeze it 8 turns in a row probably dumping at least 8 mana in having to do that, and everyone loses their minds.
Makes no psychological sense whatsoever.

No, I don’t believe it is. When you have games where your 3 strongest minions are just frozen from turn 2-10 every single game, it needs to be reworked. Far too many freeze options plus the solid alibi and counter minion. The location nerf wasn’t as strong as it should’ve been. It’s TOO much anti board. I’m tired of seeing classes that specialize in clear and stall be given unreal board presence as well. Demon Hunters and Priest are also super broken with this.
You cannot allow a class to routinely clear and stall while also hyper dropping board presence. This always comes back to the power creep discussion. Too many classes do too many things simultaneously while other classes can only do 1.
What would you like? Ten classes of taunts?
Your complaint makes little sense to me.
Different classes use different mechanisms to achieve the same objective.

I agree with this part, but players got exactly what they asked for when they cried about mage winning with spells and not minions.
Mage is supposed to be a glass cannon.
Again; We have gotten so far away from class roles that the game is a mess.
I play about 6 different decks. I have been trying a Paladin deck recently. Quest Paladin and Pure Paladin. I also play Big Spell Mage, Naga Priest, Control and Evolve Shaman, Relic DH, Big Beast Hunter, Imp Warlock, Ramp Druid, Beast Druid, Face Hunter and Mech Paladin. I play different decks to have fun. As far as the Mage matchup I was playing a Pure Paladin deck.
Freeze is to make up for the fact that Mage has zero taunts.
Honestly man … mage isn’t even a problem to me …
that is not even enough. 8 armor is easily crushed by the likes of for example DH and our mana cheating buddy called hunter.
secondly there was a minion and i think it can only be played at wild to get mages some Armor but ya need to cast spells and that stil is not enough because it gets killed quickly.

This is a hugely disingenuous comparison to compare one removal spell to multiple turns of being frozen.
When you play removal spells that destroy someone’s minions 8 turns in a row there is just as much uproar.
When someone is literally locked out of playing the game for multiple turns in a row it’s bad gameplay.
I think the 8 turns in a row is a huge outlier, but nonetheless locking the board for multiple turns isn’t good gameplay.

If you kill my 8/8 and I follow up with two 4/4 that you don’t have a spell for, they are going to impact the game. In the mage example, it doesn’t matter what I do, it sits there useless for repeated turns.
It was an outlier for sure but it pissed me off. Basically was not able to make a play for 8 turns. It might not be a meta breaking archetype but it is trash to play against and what I would consider a cancerous Troll deck to play. And getting your board frozen 6 times in A game happens often and it should not happen. Hell I would take having my board cleared 2 times and lose a match than win and have my board frozen 6 times. It is horrible gameplay, enough to where I just auto concede if its a freeze Mage. Freeze Mage is an auto concede now along with any Priest deck. A win against either class is not worth spending my time playing garbage games.
But it’s better than taunts much better
They made a dragon that makes it so your minions cannot be frozen.
There is also the Starfish.
Yes it is stupid to be frozen every turn, but 2/3 of players are running 40 card decks …
… and if you hate it that much you can run one of those cards in your deck.
This is the rare case that there are actually existing cards for a situation.
