Finally a card to combat ramp druid

Incredible against astral communion, can be decisive in a more common scenario such as against a ysiel/malygos druid, who normally has a 4 crystal advantage, because can help you to play teothar or mutanus with more comfort, i like it despite being very situational, i just hope that cards like this dont justify more cards like guff…

dont know zihi feels like more of a counter than this
probably exists because this right now druid isnt the only class with ramp

Am I the only Warlock that has ever used the 2 mana ramp spell the class got? Blizzard buff it to 1 mana so people will have a use for this new neutral :upside_down_face:.

The downside of excessive mana ramp cards in your deck was very obvious when the game launched and even for quite a few expansions back in the day. Once Ultimate Infestation was printed that downside evaporated and was never seen again IMHO. Overpowered payoffs and enough tutoring/draw effects to always find them.

I don’t know how much play this card will see or if it’s even good enough for it’s time in standard. I do love that this card exists though. It would be quite a stretch to call the existence of this card a downside for excessive mana ramp cards, but it’s at least something.

I like that the overly concise hearthstone text boxes had to leave out the obvious “if you have less Mana crystals than your opponent” conditional.

As written if you were ahead on mana, you’d just ramp to 10 because you’d never hit the same Mana as your opponent.

While I’m not a huge fan of the ramp mechanic… invest a bunch of cards to outmana your opponent… your opponent plays a card for 2 mana and its all up in smoke.

Seems like they could have gone about this sort of thing in a more clever manner that doesnt completely invalidate a few classes game strategy.

Yeah the wording on this is terrible.

Luckily there’s not really any ramp left in standard any longer. They are a couple of years late with this card.

Don’t jinx it. There are still druid reveals coming.

This is a bad card that will lower your win percentage against every deck except ramp druid. Maybe as an ETC option in wild but only if you’re seeing tons of druids.

Well, we asked for specific tech cards, we got one

Targetting Tempo Druid from 4 expansions ago

That how tech cards work in Hearthstone. We get them way past the expiration date of the decks they target if we get them at all.

I suspect this will be used against warriors with druid tourist (new heights) more often than actual druids

Warrior with ramp tends to be going for slow long term strategies, like having 16+ mana to play demons off kil’jaeden, or do big plays with hydration, raynor, zilliax and other stuff. Their new un’goro quest thing should also be slow since it shuffles a bunch of rewards into their deck. To fight all that value, matching them in 16+ mana will help.

Druid with ramp on the other hand tend to be about rushing towards big mana bombs (repeatedly). Value of extra mana is much less important than having something with good tempo that either can defend yourself from the druid bombs or push your own lethal before druid bombs overwhelm you.
