Finale doesn't Trigger if your Overloaded?

I start the turn with 8/10 mana because I’m overloaded 2 mana.

I play Draconic Studies and it triggers twice because I already played the Bru’kan Quest Reward.

I trade a spell once to get down to 6 mana.

I spend my final 6/10 mana on the Concert Promo-Drake and it just doesn’t trigger the Finale?

So is this working as intended? The mana is technically “locked”, so I didn’t spend the mana.

I feel like I’ve triggered the Finale off of the 3 mana Chill Vibes spell when Overloaded, but I don’t play a lot of Shaman. It was probably Draconic Studies or Bru’kan doubling effect + Draconic Studies.

Seems wrong, but I’m not 100% sure.

That doesn’t seem right. I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten Infinitize the Maxitude to trigger its Finale after playing a Discovered Overload card in Rainbow Mage.

Maybe there’s some weird interaction because the Promo-Drake was discounted by 2 that prevented Finale from triggering, but that seems like it would be a bug.

I’d agree with RinseWizard that something seems to have gone wrong there, and that probably isn’t the intended behavior for Finale effects when Overloaded.

I would wager that these effects are using your base mana, so the overloaded crystals are counted as not being “used” that turn, thus negating the Finale effect. Would be nice to get some clarification from Blizzard on this, even if it only affects a specific situation and only one class most of the time.
