Favorite era of hearthstone?

Title, what was your favorite era of hearthstone? I’m a returning player and have been playing on and off since GvG, and for me personally I’m tied between Nax-Grand tourney or Un’goro-Witchwood. I just loved early hearthstone and I also loved the meta during Un’goro and Catacombs! What was your favorite era of the game so far? :3

Probably Ungoro for me.

Yeah I loved ungoro! Quests were such a refreshing card type and the dinosaur/jungle theme was so good! Lots of class variety too.

United in Stormwind through Alterac.

Look I know what you’re thinking, I know I could lie to you and say I didn’t love Questline and Mozaki Mage, but then I’d be a lying poseur.

To be honest, most seasons have had a deck that I’ve really really loved (even if others hated it).

Let me give you some examples for fun.

Jade Druid
Taunt Druid
Malygos Druid

Big Priest (The Barnes one)
Kazakus/Raza Priest
Anduin Priest
Lyra Sunshard Miracle Priest (Maybe my favourite of all time for the meta it was in)

The original Exodia Mage (Someday I’ll be just like you)
Naga Mage (original)

ETC Warrior (first one again)
Bomb Warrior

Shudderwock Shaman

26% WR Boar Priest.

There was also some DH deck I loved despite hating DH, some crazy combo one but I can’t remember the name.

The original Lich King expansion was fun with the Frostmourne.

Zombeast Hunter was fun.

Actually, all the Hero Card upgrades were super fun even though everyone complained.

Miracle rogue with prep coin concede.

Tickatus Warlock with Curses.

Probably forgetting loads, but I’ve always managed to play a deck I’ve enjoyed in each expansion, this one is probably one of the more disappointing for me personally but I found Thaddius Warlock pretty cool.

Somewhere in the Rastakhan Rumble era.

Ungoro and I’m ashamed to say it but the entire time Il’gynoth was legal in standard.

I miss the era where you were actually punished for bad plays that couldn’t just saved by playing 1 power card.

I have literally no idea what time period you are referring to. Are you sure you didn’t dream it?

Conversely, I have literally no idea what time period Brawler isn’t referring to.

Great time to play! Some super fun cards and combined with Boomsday (which i think is super underrated in terms of expansions) with some super crazy decks, especially with shudder.

I miss hagetha… and watching toast ruin the game with shudder, but I don’t really miss playing it.

I really can’t remember a happy time. think up to some point all was just ok. now it’s not really ok…

Witchwood era for me. Even Warlock was probably my favourite deck of all time.

When you couldn’t spam legendaries so easily.

Probably Whisper of the Old Gods.

BRM meta by far, for me.

Sure, the tournament scene was pretty much just 3 decks, dictated by GPW’s existence. But there were so many options to play competitively, or to just meme around with a decent WR, on ladder.

Good times!

The flame guy for mage sure was a fun gimmick…the one that pinged 2 for spells played. Flamewalker?

I loved flamewaker! With mana wyrm’s, unstable portals and spare parts and even more tempo mage, mech mage and tempo mech were all born and super fun to play.

When DR Hunter was Meta and When HL Hunter/Mage was meta, which was the last time I enjoyed the game.

Yes. BRM was based. I loved my Malygos combo shaman. Just had to have Thaurissan discount the right cards.
