When De Other Side pulls out Fate Splitter and it dies, it gives another copy of De Other Side. Because DOS is the card that is forcing Fate Splitter to die.
This is legitimately stupid. In case you want to literally never lose to a control deck ever again - or even most board-based decks - this is the deck for you. It doesn’t matter if you overdraw and mill cards because you’re going to have a board of 6-7 massive taunt/lifesteal minions and rushing 8/8 gargoyles every turn for the rest of the game.
The only ways I can see to disrupt this are to Dirty Rat/Theotar Fate Splitter twice. Or Theotar/Disruptive Spellbreaker DOS twice.
EDIT: Fate Splitter will give a DOS even if it ran into a minion and died from the combat, not just the DOS trigger. So this is actually an infinite number of DOS. That can’t be intended…
is a similar interaction with kelthuzad i mean the part where the minion is treated as destroyed by the spell it was used to force it to attack
i remember playing hysteria to trigger kelthuzad spellburst and if he survives a ll minions destroyed get summmoned to your side becuase they were destroyed during the spell effect
havent tried if you get a copy of histeria if spinner is on the board
This is hilarious. Before release I was saying how Fate Splitter could be used to get infinite copies of a card, but I wasn’t thinking of DOS because I don’t play that deck, I was trying to do it with Warlock.
This is hilarious. I wonder if it’s intended. If it is, then the way I was thinking about going infinite with it was all wrong because I thought the minion that killed it was the card you’d get. Now Soul Mirror looks completely different.
This. Imagine a game going to turn 10. Unless its a warlock with all the wrong draws, a warrior that never got his Odyn, or a blood dk, then its your own fault for not killing the shaman before turn 10.
That said, I rather enjoyed watching a game using this strat to mill a warlock.
With Soul Mirror, I suppose you would get the card it ran into or otherwise killed it. De Other Side can be the card that kills a minion as it’s part of the text, if the Splitter doesn’t have a minion to run into and die.
I almost included it in my meme other side deck for this exact reason but decided against it, I though it might just give me the card it rams into if it dies on impact ?
Citation needed. Nobody is running Viper. Shoot, the only tech card is Speaker Stomper and even that only shows up in one or two netdecks…
But that’s also beside the point - Viper doesn’t prevent the Deathrattle and it doesn’t address the fact that this interaction exists in the first place.
You pointed out that DoS is a 10-mana card and were rightly refuted with the fact that Jazz Bass exists, and is a core synergy for the strategy. Talking about Viper as if it’s relevant is just moving the goalposts.
Every single slow deck I have met in the past 2 months runs viper. I literally see them spending a turn (1 mana) recycling the viper. And nobody runs it?
Sorry Sig, I play video games, I don’t spend my fun hours of my day checking third party websites for what everyone is teching with. I play the game, I see vipers. The vipers invalidate your point about the weapon being played before turn 10.
Now, far sight high rolling the spell is another story of course.
If the opponent has no minions I can see that. But if it dies from trading it shouldn’t give you a copy of From De Other Side, because it dies before your spell kills it. That’s just an unintended interaction.
Yeah, I hate that the current meta is just aggro and OTK. Control + trying out wacky combos has always been my favourite archetype. It’s just not playable anymore with that many otk decks.
I encountered the same annoying deck twice now. The infinite loop is just bad game design imo… I hope they ban it or something, because there’s no real interaction possible here and they can just cast the same spell every turn, heal, deal damage and cast it again next turn.
Interaction between both players is a key point of what always made the game fun, but now there’s too many decks that have no interaction, they just kill you from hand and there is very littlle you can do about it.
And yes, that they get FDOS back while fatesplitter dies to a minion is a bug.
