My opponent had an Eyestalk of C’Thun buffed to 20/20. I played Faceless Manipulator targetting it and I just got a plain 1/1 Eyestalk which also didn’t even have taunt! Is that the expected interation? It’s certainly not what one would intuitively expect!
Its the linkage of where the eyestalk gets its stats from. Unless you also have a C;thun you;ve been buffing all game, those links will be broken because they are looking to your deck for a c’thun and its stats and such. If you lack one, its got nothing to base its linked stats to. SImilar to if you copy or steal the enemy ETC but you dont have one in your deck to begin with, you lack a sideboard to access so when played it does nothing. However it would work fine if you did have your own ETC and so a stolen or copied one is a good time for you. As would a copied or stolen Eyestalk of C’thun if you are playing a C;thun deck. Otherwise dont try that strategy again lol.

Minions is 1/1 and the aura refreshes to apply its condition to you. Aura reads that its effect on your side of the board is +0/+0. Your monion is 1/1 by the intended way auras are designed in Hearthstone

and you copy it, its a 20/20 copy
so a copy of ETC should battlecry and show me their sideboard? pretty sure it dont work that way. Also, if you were to copy one of my totems after I had played my minion that for rest of game gives all my totems +2 attack, your copy wont have that aura buff applied to it. As the source of the buff isnt ON that minion, only being applied to it because the Aura is on my hero, not their’s.

Yes, exactly @CheezesCrust, thanks for posting the link. I had also looked at that page before I submitted the bug. Also I mentioned the eyestalk also lost taunt even though that’s in the text of the eyestalk card itself independent of C’Thun so there is definitley some sort of bug. Presumably it also lost lifesteal but I didn’t notice that at the time…

It’s not a bug. The wording of eyestalk of c’thun states that whenever YOUR c’thun gains attack and health (no matter where it is), it gains the same amount. So if your opponent copies eyestalk of c’thun, but they aren’t running a c’thun of their own, then there is no buff.
Eyestalk is a 1/1 minion. Faceless manipulator doesn’t copy the 20/20, it copys the 1/1. This is exactly how the interaction should work. If the person playing faceless is also playing c’thun, then the eyestalk copy it would also get buffed.
