After a couple of times of what felt the most unfair thing in arena, that is facing an opponent who has Ignis as their legendary, I finally started an arena run and got offered Ignis.
I picked him.
The problem?
I was not offered a single Forge card the entire draft.
I feel cheated in a big way.

uhhh how bad were your other choices for you to pick the one that depends on whatever pops up next ?

Already forgot, but for me it was a no brainer insta pick cause he was so broken every time an enemy played it against me.
Didin’t know/think i will be screwed by the system.
I mean, they just removed blood mage thalnos from the pool so you wont feel bad getting him offered as an option. So imagine how bad it feels to have a useless Ignis, they should fix this.
I had about 15 tavern tickets saved up, and have to say, I was pretty disappointed in the mode. Like you, I’d pick a legendary of a certain synergy, only to be offered minions with none of said synergy. That’s taught me to look for more general effects and not ones reliant on one specific synergy.
The correct concept is: the legendary is just a normal pick.
A lot of commons are stronger that legendary cards these days, so don’t rely on one card to do the trick. That’s why most highlander legendaries suck, for example.
For your case, it’s just unlucky. You can live with one bad pick.
If you are disappointed with Arena right now. It’s a good thing you haven’t played it in the past 2-3 years because it was a hundred times worse. The new system isn’t perfect but it’s far better than what was there previously. All they need to do now is figure out one more change to eliminate barcode decks. The two big changes they did go a long way but more is needed.
- Disable the retire button.
- Give a random hero instead of a pick to further hinder the possibility of a super deck.
There must be a lot more ways.
