Explaining to do

Let me get this straight… I craft 2 gold commons (800d) and 2 gold rare cards (1600d) only to be given the same 4 gold cards in “core set” to then figure out my gold cards aren’t seen as duplicates even though core set cards can be used in wild? How about you don’t confuse me with gold duplicates that can’t be exchanged for full value. Better yet, leave core set out of wild entirely.

I’m confused, you only every get a fraction of the cost back on cards you dust unless you change your mind before you close out of the page. It has always been this way.

I get penalized for crafting gold cards in wild because they decided to gift me the same 4 gold cards via core set which can be used in wild for free.

Ima go walk and crop dust the other side of the office. You inspired me.

It is not because they are part of the Core Set. You only ever get a percentage of the dust back on cards you want to dust.

If the Core set changes next year and those cards are removed, you will still have your version in wild but the ones that were Core will be gone.

So you have a set you own and a set you’re borrowing. One is wild, the other is core.

You’ve not been penalized at all. You still own your wild cards, and you can dust them like any other card.

The other set will rotate out of core at some point and you won’t have them anymore.

If they are core to a deck you love in wild, leave them be.

It’s the fact that core set cards can be played in wild that is the issue. I now have duplicate gold cards that register as duplicates even though they are separate and I find that to be stupid.

So core set flame imp can be played in wild and so can a regular wild flame imp but then once core set flame imp rotates only wild flame imp will be playable? That makes zero sense to me.

That is because the Core Set Flame Imps will disappear.

The Core Set doesn’t rotate, it can just change. That is why they made it free to everyone. It allows Blizzard to change the meta more each rotation. They are even pulling old expansion cards back with it. Who knows, maybe one year they will make all of the Death Knight Heroes from Knights of the Frozen Throne into the Core Set Legendaries. :grinning: Can’t you hear the screams now.

As a long time wild player it’s confusing as hell to see multiple of a same card that you crafted for wild but one is sandbox mode and the other is legit. At least put a mark on the core set cards or better yet, don’t make any core set cards gold.

You should sue blizzard and try get your full dusts back.

Lol, agreed. Or at least give me 1600 dust or a few free packs to make up for the confusion. I nearly dusted my gold cards assuming they were duplicates. I feel bad for people that actually did dust their gold wild cards.

The Core Set cards have a Year of the Gryphon watermark in the text box, your original card will have the Hearthstone swirl or the watermark of the expansion it was in. It isn’t all that easy to make out though.

They are already there. Just put your head out of sand and look.

BTW, reading of news beforehand could prevent you from losing of the dust.

Question: Can i use core set cards to classic ?

(for example…why i need to craft Cairne Bloodhoof for Classic when i already have him in Core set for free…?)

I think they do. My Freezing traps still show up as “extra”.

No. Core Set can be used in Standard and Wild.

Additionally, if you craft for Classic, it also counts as the same permanent copy for Wild.
Likewise, the opposite is true, if you disenchant your Wild (permanent copy) you also lose it for Classic. So be careful.

I don’t think this is THAT confusing, but Blizzard could do better communicating what’s in the core set and what isn’t.

I have a guide for that

They also listed a breakdown of the Core Set on PlayHearthstone, and the full Core Set was revealed a month beforehand.

I mean in the deck builder.

thx for the explaining

even tho i wish we could use core set cards that can be used in classic as well… (like cairne for example or baron geddon etc.)

Core cards are a loan and every year excists the posibility of it changeing, you have your golden cards that you crafted forever.
