Everything revealed in the livestream

New Battlegrounds update, more themed minions and more cosmetic options.

New expansion: United in Stormwind.

New mechanic: Tradable. You can shuffle a card with tradable back into your deck and draw another for 1 mana. Excellent for situational cards.

New Quest type: Questline. Quest but with multiple steps, and before the final reward you get a small reward for completing each one!

And also, special weapons!

You’ll get a special Legendary for logging in today!

after completing it all damage to you by your own cards is taken by the opponent instead!!!

So there’s a new minion that destroys a weapon and it has the tradeable keyword. Tech’ing against weapons is going to be so easy now that I think this will really kill weapon decks. I can’t imagine anyone not running this card if any weapon decks get any traction in the meta.

Was the Mage questline reward already revealed?

It’s an upgraded Dawngrasp that gives permanent spell damage when played.

Mah dude here straight on the the timestamp.
I can only say this looks hella slow but hella interesting. Gotta see the New spells, still.

I am curious if hp mage is dead. Dark bishop looks interesting, eager to see new shadow spells

Yeah that’s a lot of questing! However the rewards at each tier help complete the next level.

Still, too slow imo, even when you’ve completed the final quest you’ll have to wait another turn to play the reward minion, not convinced!

I think If there’s a Control Mage in the Horizon, It will run the HP package, as it’s only 5 cards. Curiously, Mage got a Lot of spell specific draw right now: 1 in the sidequest, 2 in starscriers and 2 in the dungeoneer that can prop a deck focusing on a few Keys spells.

Unfortunately, Arcanist Varden won’t vibe with It. Spell Damage goes better with several little spells than few Key ones.

I can sincerely see a deck where you could run… 8 spells? To get Varden quickly, but then what? Maybe Varden goes better on Spell Mage, after all.

I predict it will be crap and if it somehow makes mage tier two or better, it will be nerfed within two weeks.

You may be right, but it is better for the mind, I think, to try and remain optimistic. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Also, @Mallenroh… try other classes, ya bum!

This might be the card that puts shaman in its place.

Actually, I think shaman will be fine, they can pivot to spells instead of weapons easily. Between notetaker and Fireheart I think there’s definitely a lot of room for burst there.

The Mage quest looks like it will be good a nice boost to Spell Mage ,this however does not:
Common · Spell · United in Stormwind · Tradeable Deal 3 damage to all minions.

Still waiting for support for Freeze and Hero Power Mage(it wont come).

What’s wrong with that card?

I really like what I’ve seen in this set so far. Tradeable is a great mechanic to make tech cards more viable, questlines give decks some long term focus, mounts look really strong, the new neutral legendary we’re all getting has a lot of flexibility, a lot of neutral healing to make longer games more viable, and a win condition for priest that isn’t random nonsense spam. Early impressions are good for me on this. I like longer games and this seems focused not just on having late game plays but making sure there’s a way to get to those late game plays.

No support still for the freeze legendary mage got in Barrens.

This is a card for a late game Mage something impossible to reach in standard.

The class has neither the sustain or the tools to turn games around my guess its another piece of an archtype that will never be complete.
Mage seems to be getting Spell Power support and this control piece you can forget about Hero Power and Freeze .
