it is such an aggressive meta nothing different when comes to play style all matches feel the same. No matter what class you play against either mass manna cheat or some kind of OTK deck.
For the most part, I agree.
Standard feels broken, despite the diversity of classes playing scam or combo decks. I hit Legend on one account, D5 to D3 on two others, and Platinum on a fourth, but I really do not desire to play any more of the format. I am mostly going to play Arena until the new expansion is released.
i just dislike prince renathal, haven’t touched standard since he was introduced.
the fact that i’m not pre-ordering means I’m most likely going to go 0-3 in the tavern brawl too.
see yall on launch i guess
I did not pre-order either just saved up enough gold for a few packs of cards and that is it. Figure out why to waste money if not even playable. It has been the same old stuff for months, and I don’t see really any changes happening without a good amount of nerfs.
I agree with the OP sentiment.
It’s a very repetitive narrative.
But, that’s not uncommon in most video games, especially those within the mobile market industry.
The problem is Blizzard pushes mobile-only now and backfires in the process.
This may seem true to the individual player but from a business perspective the mobile game market is worth over 100 billion in 2024.
It’s pretty simple to figure out where the potential profits are at and what company wouldn’t like a slice of that pie.
How many mobile players are going to spend the amount it costs to keep up in HS each year playing mobile vs. your PC players? Most whales are PC players, not mobile, and Blizzard biting the hand that feeds them, and it’s going to backfire horribly.
I don’t care what business you run it bad practices bite the original customers in the hope of bringing new customers instead. As a business, you keep both parties happy not just one or the other.
I didn’t realize this was published anywhere. Link a source for this claim because I think you’re actually wrong.
As a business, you follow the money. If they’re putting time and effort to mobile gaming preferences, that’s where the dollars are.
Umm…
Activision/ Blizz bought Candy Crush for almost 6 billion.
Don’t you think they saw the potential profits coming with the growth forecast of the mobile gaming industry?
In a perfect world yes I agree.
I wish that all businesses would follow this practice.
Does not matter anymore to me because I can’t see HS lasting a few more years like this.
I think the only people playing this are kids (like my 8 year old, or super boomer people like 40+ ).
Maybe that’s why the meta is so horrible.
Yes and stupid Highlander + removers makes it the most agressive… not to mention unfair amount of armor build, AOE and Brann, Boomboss… becuse that is the only chance to win against them… absolute fail card design… kills the game and the fun… still not worth a single cent in the current state.
When you can type this seriously and stay alive, it’s time to go visit a doctor. There’s a lot of fixing to be done with your head.
How do you seriously claim this in the meta where the fastest deck kills you in 9 turns on average, which came a month after the meta where the slowest deck kills you on turn 6 on average?
This thread is borderline spam, it’s toxic, it’s completely wrong, and I think you should be banned for months. Not just as a favour to the mental health of the rest of us, but also to give you the chance to fix yours.
The youngest boomers are almost 60.
There are millenials in their 40s at this point.
An alternative explanation is that the meta is fine, but you’ve got nuggies and mac n cheese in the basement at mom’s so you’d rather watch cartoons because hearthstone is too much work.
This thread, like many others created by this person, is mad because bad more than anything related to the game.
The idea that this is an aggressive meta is laughable. Even wild is in a control meta right now.
Pair with HS early 2000s expansions and now would see a different meta. The Old Gods or Dark Moon Fair was better than this meta.
Cthun would be lucky to see some play today or any of the, types of high-cost cards in the past.
Sure but what other solution exists other than continue ?
Unlike many here think if you put effort you gonna see that they actually make the effort to Go with it as slow as possible.
We really should have a table system where you sit with friends or make your own tournament and that is it.
Forcing casual people into standard because of the lack of options backfires a little like this.
No one says to slow the game down to a snail’s pace but cut back on the power creep and card draw, it would improve this a lot more.
They really can’t.
We all experienced the Raven year and How dumb It played.
And when it did fail the powercreep came really strong after.
Better Just give people places were they can have that slower gameplay until they get bored and come back.
