Ethereal Oracle is a problem

It should probably be looked at in the next update. I’m getting bored of playing against Shaman continuously, and this card is one of the prime culprits. It offers too much for too little cost I feel.

It ensures a finisher is almost always added to hand (thrall’s gift), applies tempo with generous card draw on a body, and of course spell damage on top.

Possible adjustments:

  1. Swap the draw two spells to draw two cards.
  2. Reduce card draw to one spell.
  3. Remove +1 spell damage.
  4. Increased mana cost.

Thoughts?

Nah i think he’s got the right Oracle and really it is a bit too good.

Really shocked the card dodged first round of nerfs honestly. Maybe they were afraid it would kill certain deck archetypes? Who knows. Heres hoping its nerfed.

They generally don’t nerf any new cards that soon unless it’s insanely egregious in its power level.

It used to be a bad card in the beginning of the game when it couldn’t be abused, but over the years it’s become more and more broken and unfun

The Devs leave OP cards in the game intentionally. You think they didn’t know Reno was OP for two expansions? Too disingenuous when they acted surprised at the nerf patch that they didn’t know; of course they knew; the average player knew immediately.

They do it to cause intentional shifts to the meta (e.g. in this case more power to asteroids or eruptions maybe). Though in the case of Reno I think they also wanted to sell a lot of legendary cards for those massively expensive highlander decks.

It’s from the current set.

It’s not coldlight oracle, the murloc, it’s a different card.

Pop up book is broken af. It just does too much for 1 mana and needs to get hit. Maybe 2 mana or just one dmg. Or something.

pop up book needs to spawn only one frog with taunt to balance it.
the oracle needs to either have the stats nerfed, like 1/1 or cost 4 mana. Right now for 3 mana does too much

The book is very weak against the cheapest AOE in the game. If you think that deck is played too much and you want to counter it, just get a lot of AOE in your deck (you’re not just copy pasting the first deck you find do you?).

Apparently a typical control warrior and a typical DK wreck it.

I knew those decks well from wrecking my flood paladin.

Also nerfing oracle isn’t going to help you against shaman and will probably be a massive buff since it will hurt rogue more. The target should be changing that 2 mana summon 3 pirates card.

The stats do not matter, no one cares about the body, it could be 0/1 and would be played almost as often because the only thing people care about is spell damage and spellburst. No one sane plays Oracle for tempo.

I do not know what deck are you talking about but according to D0nkey swarm Shaman is the top deck both in high legend and below and Warior and DK have barely positive WR. Yes, DK and Warrior are the worst matchups for Swarm Shaman but DK is 50/50.
