Ethereal Oracle finally nerfed

Good riddance!

In hindsight, this is a card we probably should have addressed in the last balance patch.

At least you realize lol

I was right again. The card never should have been printed in its current form.

If only this was the only change they had done before xmas we would have had a much better meta (maybe the Zilly nerf too because screw zilly)

It is okay to nerf It but sincerely this nerf happening only now shows they have no hindsight of things.

In fact i would say the game becomes less Fun with it nerf because etheral Oracle is engaging to play with.
Also being a mana nerf Will not solve any of the problems people have with the card despite of balancing It.

Lazy solution as expected.
Would prefer draw 1 as nerf but i guess my bar is a little too high for blizzard.

Were there a whole lot of decks truly being oppressed by oracle… I dont see a whole lot of new decks emerging now that oracle is delayed a turn.

Probably just more dungar druid and decks that seek to kill dungar druid by turn 4.

Late as usual. Almost time for the next batch of problem cards to see play so they can continue not balancing those enough until next full set releases and repeat the cycle. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For sure Cycle Rogue and Asteroid Shaman get hit by this. Does that matter in the post Starcraft meta though?

Not good enough.

The spellburst should be one card, not two.

I’m mostly surprised this didn’t happen in the first balance patch, but better late than never.

Oh damn all of my decks for climbing ladder are using this card. Swarm shaman will take over the format now. RIP lynessa RIP cycle RIP attack DH.

Isn’t swarm shaman also using this? Basically every meta deck except weapon rogue and dungar used this.

For me supernova mage stocks rise a decent amount.

Cycle rogue was Very dificult and the deck has a decent replacement for etheral Oracle with introvert servant or robocaller.

I haven’t play that much swarm shaman tbh, but from what I’ve seen in the ladder the 3 drops were mostly observer of mysteries, turbulus, overload spell that gives em 3 attack and rush elemental minion, gorgonzormu and Dreamplanner Zephrys. They rely more on trusty companion and cactus cutter as tutors.

Yup, rogue dead again, can’t wait to find yet another deck squeeze out 50% wr before being mandated “too anti fun” and nerfed to sub 30 again

Shaffar ain’t getting nerfed as well as weapon rogue, the only problem with weapon rogue due to ethereal oracle nerf people would probably play swarm shaman, discover hunter and station druid. I tried shaffar several times in a ladder it was definitely strong, but I just prefer decks with ethereal oracle in general.

And they only nerfed one card when they are a ton more that need it too.

For those of you asking why it was nerfed. It is in contention for being one of the best cards to ever exist in Hearthstone. It is not just a draw. It is a tutor effect. Add in spell damage on a low cost body and you are looking at an oppressive nightmare. It allows for a reload on cards for decks that want to empty their hands early. It also allows for mediocre AOE to become a powerhouse. Not to mention drawing and buffing meteors.

This card made it near impossible to stick a board from turns 4-6. Tar Slick+Prep+Fan demolishes any early board while drawing the rogue 3 cards. It made Magma Drink terrifying as your smaller minions die to AOE and meteors rain down on what is left. I could write paragraphs on this card. I am glad they admitted they should have nerfed it sooner.

It is really time but not sure 1 mana cost will be enough.

i dont understand im sure people hated when we had one balance patch every 2 months…

i dont think ive seen people complain about the change to 2 weeks after each content release date

and about the orcale

…ill no longer be able to burn an asterioud shaman with a tony+oracle +0 mana spell…its been fun doing that !

The Devs pretend they never imbalance the game on purpose. They made this a Common rarity so the refunds are very cheap and they made it overpowered because they had in mind that Asteroids raining on you is some kind of signature of the expansion.

It reminds me of them trying to convince us that they realized only 2 expansions after the recent Reno nerf that the card was OP when everyone and their mom knew at the day of release.
